Rule 3: Low Effort Is it possible that Trump’s tariffs are a massive pump and dump scheme?

EDIT: I’m not an investor, just asking a question.

Trump controls the SEC and DOJ, so who’s going to investigate or stop him?

Is it possible that Trump, his family, and billionaire buddies are benefiting from Trump’s tariffs?

Trump could be letting them know the date and time that he’s going to make the announcement to impose tariffs. Like many investors, they pull their investments but, they have a head start due to their insider knowledge.

Then he lets those on the inside know that he’s going to rescind tariffs and the date and time which he will be announcing that.

They buy the dip and profit as the market rebounds.

Rinse and repeat.

Unless it turns out that he is in fact truly a Russian asset.

Elmos is 3 and a half years old. Do not disrespect that baby

How can anyone deny it at this point? Trump attacked Ukraine and Zelenskyy. Russia is the only country they didn’t add tariffs.

And North Korea….

What are they exporting to the US? Nothing, a tariff on nothing is no tariff...

45

u/Careless-Pragmatic 2d ago

Just pointing out they aren’t on the list,… even when he went to the trouble of putting an uninhabited territory with just penguins on the list.

24

u/TaraRabenkleid 2d ago

He placed tariffs on uninhabited islands

u/Gizzard04 2d ago

The penguins gotta pay their fair share, too!

u/SarcasmGPT 2d ago

These so called penguins, are they penguins? They look black to me... Anyway, they expect us to keep the waters safe for free? They're giving us nothing and getting so much in return, absolute leeches. What do they eat? Fish, where are the fish? In our oceans that we're protecting. Less fish for your average Joe, pushing the price of fish sky high! It's lower than sleepy Joe's time of course because the dems let them do whatever they wanted!

Everything he does looks like a poorly executed group project in high school.

2

u/AlphaOhmega 2d ago

There's dozens of countries and territories on that list that don't export anything and still have tariffs imposed...

-2

u/Gizzard04 2d ago

Cool. I commented on North Korea...which turns out to have exported about 56k worth of plastics in 2024.

u/punica-1337 2d ago

Russia's exports to the US in 2024 (iirc) amounted to 3.5 billion worth of goods.

1

u/Space-Turtle88 2d ago

Apparently they do export to us. Its not a lot, but they do.

What could Russia give him that he can't get as President of the United States?

they stated they werent targeted cause already heavily taxed trade. Russia, North Korea, Cuba.

11

u/Codipotent 2d ago

Interesting how there is a convenient reason to tax EVERYONE except for dictator countries. If you can’t see through the BS then there’s no hope for you buddy.

How can that really be in doubt any more.

If not an asset an ally.

u/Fmlalotitsucks 2d ago

At this point, there should be mountains of evidence that he is. Yet nothing is happening

3

u/Mykrroft 2d ago

Turns out? It is known

Regardless if he is or if he is not. Look at his actions!

Even if he's not a russian asset he sure as hell accomplished all of their goals! He destroyed our ties with allies, our trade, our resiliency, he villianized our citizens, he's deporting people to concentration camps, and he destroyed education which will keep people stupid forever.

Shit on one side. Shit on the other. With a shit-cream filling. It's all literally shit.

How much should we be mad at Russia?

1

u/couragekindness 2d ago

As Seth Abramson has said, whether he is wittingly or unwittingly a Russian asset is all but irrelevant at this point, as he behaves and communicates exactly like one.

1

u/daishi55 2d ago

I read that he’s been talking about tariffs since the 80s. He’s just a very stupid old man fixated on a very silly idea.

u/punica-1337 3d ago

Fair point, could absolutelt be included in my post. I just reckon that if he were, he would have pulled aid and intel for Ukraine already.

43

u/Hugsy13 3d ago

Ffs are you serious? This already happened. Weeks ago?

They pulled the support and Ukraine lost most of the ground in Kursk which is the Russian area they’d invaded. They then gave them support back after the Russians retook most of the land…

-34

u/punica-1337 3d ago

Any self respecting analyst has already pointed out that the Kursk salient was doomed months ago because (iirc) the Russians basically had fire control over both logistics routes. So they would have lost it anyway. The one week intel and material cut obviously didnt help UA, but it was not the reason for losing the Kursk operation (which, honestly, was a mistake and done purely for political PR).

26

u/Hugsy13 2d ago

What a load of shit. The Ukrainian invasion of Russian land, which shocked the Russians and caused the Russians to spend a shit load of their resources and manpower on to try and reclaim it. For many fucking reasons such as the insane embarrassment of Russia losing Russian territory to the Ukrainians that they couldn’t get back, while trying to make out that they were beating Ukraine. Wasn’t a bad fucking result? Absolute joke. Ukraine invaded Russian territory while they’re in a defensive war and you’re trying to say that had no effect?

15

u/I_AM_YOUR_DADDY_AMA 2d ago

There’s a reason Trump supporters are predominantly uneducated easily manipulated stupid people

-3

u/punica-1337 2d ago

My post got deleted because I cant refer to x so I'll keep this short. Look up Naalsio, who tracks equipment losses for the Kursk offensive and shows that UA lost more material there than the Russians did, something which is absolutely not worth it for UA. Yes, the initial incursion was a great op. But they should have pulled out after two weeks and when they didnt, it became a slog where they had (slightly) worse than 1:1 losses vs the Russians.

And don't fucking lecture me, I've put a lot of money and time into fundraisers to help people on the ground there.

3

u/FwkYw 2d ago

Isn't 1:1 losses for an attacking force considered extremely good? Not trying to be facetious, I thought that the standard expectation was 3:1 when it came to attackers

0

u/punica-1337 2d ago

For an attacking force, yes. But Ukraine has been on the defence in the Kursk region for months. They were gradually losing terrain and on top of that, their logistics had been threatened/semi cut for weeks before the US cut their intel.

0

u/punica-1337 2d ago

That said, I'm more than willing to discuss this in a proper manner but if you can't be civilized, we're done.

6

u/SargeantSasquatch 2d ago

He got impeached for trying to withhold Ukraine aid in a quid pro quo scheme his first term. Were you not paying attention like four years ago?
