I think that's actually the father! (the males have a darker 'cap' on their heads, and also are usually responsible for the eggs during the day.)

That does it! I keep putting up dove houses that no one uses, I'm just gonna lean a ladder outside somewhere and see what happens. Throw me a crumb doves, I'm trying to help.

hmmm, I have some of those, that's a good idea and I have a perfect spot even, thanks for the suggestion friend! The doves visit me to eat and drink, and even sun themselves, then they take off :(

Set the planter far enough away that they can see you but not so far that they dont notice you. Eventually you will be seen as the nice landlord and snack provider :)
