I need a mixer recommendation.
I have analysis paralysis. There are too many mixers to choose from and need a recommendation. The biggest limitation is my desk size.
Must-Have Features:
At least 8 mono inputs
At least 4 stereo pairs
Mostly top-panel connections to keep the total footprint depth between 10-14"
Outputs compatible with Scarlett 2i2
USB and effects would be nice.

That's what I would suggest. I'm really digging mine. They could even sell their Scarlett for some extra cash to go towards the Tascam at that point.

Zoom l6 is pretty amazing for its size. depending on if your mono/stereo usage is concurrent or not, it might suit you.

yeah, this is the most compact mixer that has this many outputs, usb audio interface and at least some semi-decent effects.

I use a VMix 10 as a sub mixer into a 1010 Bluebox. Monos into the VMix, then stereos into the Bluebox. I think you can cram this into 14”.

I actually recently replaced my Scarlett 2i2 with a Tascam Model 12. Really nice being able to track so much at once

Mix in the DAW. Mixer don’t help unless you apply a relatively big budget.

If you are looking up synths, go line rack mixers. Art has one.
You need a lot of monos then your Mackie and Yamaha are fine.

This is a bit of a non-issue because even if a mixer has XLR outs getting XLR to 1/4" TRS is trivial.
But you already have an audio interface :)
A&H ZED 12FX should tick all your boxes and A&H makes good quality gear.
