from 00:00 to 00:55 there’s this weird metallic, liquid sounding synth, any ideas on how SOPHIE did this?

I've noticed a lot of synths used in hip hop and modern pop have very little buzz on them. But if I bring my low pass filter down to take some buzz off my synths, they sound like a pillow got put over them.
I know they're not using crazy synths: You can see videos of people working with out of the box synths. And I'm working with common digital synths.
Is this a wave shape thing? Is there a specific sauce to taking "buzz" off a patch without it sounding smothered?
Can give examples if needed but I feel like 90% of people who read this are gonna get what I'm saying just listening to modern pop and then tossing a filter on their favorite digital synth.

Hello! I have recently been digging around in Chris Christodoulou's Risk of Rain 1 Stems (specifically Aurora Borealis) and I was wondering if anyone knows where this bell chimes/glass sound comes from?

Hello,
I'm currently working on a full reconstruction of Kraftwerk's Radioactivity and came across a peculiar sound that I'm struggling to replicate. They have used it on their live performances since 1990. Any ideas on its origin, or on recreating it using any synth?
Here are some Timestamps of the sound in all the versions of the track:
(Im talking about the background sound, not the morse code)

Is it possible to make a good living as a sound designer? Is it better to work freelance or work for a company ? How much is the salary? How many projects can u work on as a freelancer?

I’m trying to reverse engineer this song for learning purposes and this part has me stumped. How do you make the wobble bass change speed like that? Also is there a name for it so I can find tutorials more easily? Any info is appreciated 💜

Aye not too much on it being a geometry dash clip. Just close ya eyes and listen lol.

At about 21 seconds in we hear this vocal synth come in, I was wondering if anyone knows how he might have made this, or if anyone might have knowledge in the gear used to create it. Perhaps it’s actually a sample? Any insight is greatly appreciated <3

I'm really interested in creating a strong "ripping" sound as is often featured in REZZ's music like REZZ & X1-Y2 - ETERNAL @ 0:57 or this song called NIGHTCAP - HEIST MUSIC @ 0:47. I guess it's based on a square wave, but do you guys have any further tips on how to beef up that juicy shredded sound?

Hello,
I'm interested in synths almost only because I desperately want to get Dabeull bass sounds, but it seems it's basically impossible.
Examples:
If someone could recommend a VST and if possible a specific preset to reproduce this kind of sound I would be eternally grateful.
There was a guy explaining how to do it here:
But I cannot get with to work with a Bass Station 2 or a Deepmind 6 (I'm probably pretty bad at patching though).
Here is the best I could come up with, but I'm not happy with it. There must be some stuff I'm missing.

Thanks for any advice!

I love the synth sounds in this remix. My band is asking me to recreate them and I’m not sure where to start as I am a guitarist with an interest in adding keys and synths to our songs.
I have a bunch of Arturia software but might be able to grab a Novation Summit for an incredible deal.
I’m still new to synthesis so I’m asking for any guidance on how to recreate the synth sounds in this song.

They use this exact synth brass in a lot of their songs from this era. (see valentine, The Party, their remix of "Electric Feel") How can I get this sound? I'm trying to using my JUNO 106 and I can't get that close at all. Seems to be a bit of detune and it pitches down right as the notes start.

FL guy here. I really want to figure out how to achieve this crispy 808 sound that's distorted but not obnoxious, kinda like clipping but it's not? idk It's appealing to me.

One of Kitaro's signature sounds is the glistening / sparkling tiny metallic sounds he used on many albums and tracks - one example is the opening of Oasis: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LzNUNDjC3sM
EDIT: Title has stupid typo, Kitaro not Kiraro....Doh.
Considering this was done well before samplers and via purely analogue means, how would one go about creating something like this (without sampling, on digital or analogue or analogue modelling digital gear).
I was thinking it uses some random arpeggiator or several of those, plus somehow very sharp envelopes with a metallic sound (could he have been using ring modulation? or it just comes across as metallic with odd harmonics?).
Many thanks for any thoughts
