I think the state of healthcare, stagnant wages, constant threat of houselessness, assault on body autonomy, and lack of groceries is what is making people anti-US. You don’t need TikTok to be repulsed by the political state of this country. Luigi proves that. It’s naive to blame foreign apps for shit our politicians do on their own. And because they cannot unify to fix anything else, it makes it difficult to believe for the average tiktok user that their intentions are pure.

All of those are born of republicans preventing any kind of progressive policies or major improvements to the average American's life, not the US is bad through. It's not naive to ban the app being controlled by the CCP that directed the energy and attention that could go towards solving those issues by lets say voting in Harris instead of the orange whore towards being an anti-US crusader.

Tiktok needed to go a year ago after how pro-Palestinian propaganda was pushed so heavily, it's blatantly clear how much of a problem tiktok became. The same goes for any of the other chinese social media apps. The CCP even has trolls, bots, and brainwashed users across reddit, they're just trivial to spot.

I think this is a very naive perspective. The crackdowns on student protestors in the springtime shored up support for the normalization of anti-protest rhetoric and policy. That’s why when folks try to protest Trump’s administration, they will be met with violence and force.

Not to mention that if you’ve been paying attention, you’ll have noticed how many democratic representatives vote in coalition with republicans. Centrism will take us to hell in a hand basket because it enables fascism at every step.

My response:

It's not. I'm a centrist but when I say that I'm talking about I'm looking at the merit of both arguments as well as who is saying them. That means that at this point in time, I'm so left wing that I'm closer to Bernie than the corporate democrats. It also means that I'm all for playing hardball instead of quietly laying down to be walked over. The democrats should have done that since they regained the presidency.

Tiktok played no small part in this via delivering Chinese propaganda to impressionable young people that could be turned against anything American regardless of how accurate it actually was. Harris could have won the election had only 2-3 million more americans came out in the swing states and we'd have been able to get back on the progressive policy train that Biden started as Harris ran a competent government aiming to better the average American's life (And that's only 2-3 million, lets say it was 4-5 or higher.). But no, they stayed home and didn't vote or they voted for Trump because of Chinese propaganda.

And that's what China wanted, they wanted people to not vote or protest vote because "both sides are bad" and for Trump to win. That wasn't something we did to ourselves, that's Chinese interference on the same level as Russian, Israeli, or Iranian interference.

LA and New York were the first places to ban masks at protests! Guess who needed help from leftists with mask blocs to distribute n94s during fires?
