TIL in 2010 Bill Murray & members of the Wu-Tang Clan were hanging out at SXSW when they entered the packed Shangri-La bar together, whereupon Murray spontaneously decided to hop over the bar & become a surprise temporary bartender who served generous tequila shots regardless of what patrons ordered

That's not really douchey though

It is to the bar.

It also is to the people not getting the drinks they want.

If I go up to a bar and tell Bill Murray that I want a whiskey sour, and he hands me a tequila, I knew what I was signing up for.

Well, they should have ordered from the bartender, not the movie star that jumped behind the bar and started serving people generous amounts of tequila.

Bars have guest bartenders sometimes, they usually give you what you order though

Yes, and you would think after the first person who ordered a drink from Bill and received tequila anyone else ordered from Bill after would know the deal.

You pay a lot of attention to the drinks random strangers get at the bar?

If Bill Murray is serving the then of course I would be watching him pour drinks a lot!

You'd also be right next to him the whole time, listening to every drink that everyone orders as well? Sounds boring.

The point is that not everyone who saw him at the bar is going to hear the orders and realize what he's doing. It's a dick move and isn't even funny. Anyone else who wasn't famous would be trespassed for this kind of stunt.

Lol are you a bot?

If Bill Murray were serving drinks at the bar I was at it would be interesting enough for me to watch him at times during the night. Pretty much like the rest of humanity.

And is that your usual fallback for when people online have a point you can't refute? "ArE yOu A bOt???" Dehumanize them so you don't have to actually take their words to heart?

How presumptuous of you to assume everyone would want some famous drunk asshole messing with them at the bar. Some of us don't worship celebrities like that.

Edit: downvote all you want for all I care. You all know I have a point.

Oh you mean not from the who who wasn't invited to be a bartender?

I wouldn’t speak for all bars

Presumably he pays for whatever he pours.

Yeah I’m sure they’re gonna lose their shirts because a few people are getting the 2 dollar wholesale tequila shots for free instead of 40 bucks

You ever worked in a bar?

Yes I have. I don't see why they are being downvoted. Serving cheap tequila for free from a celebrity would be worth the PR alone.

Serving free beers would be a totally different story.
