Prop firms TraderScale denied $6,000 payout for ā€˜excessive risk' - evidence didn't match, now ghosting me

Posting this to warn other traders about my recent experience with TraderScale. I was trading a $200,000 account and had already received two successful payouts. My strategy never changed-supply and demand, support/ resistance, clean risk management, and no breaches of daily or overall drawdown. I kept risk per trade on average around 1-1.25% the entire time.

After building over $6,000 in profit and submitting a payout request, they suddenly terminated my account and claimed a "hard breach" for excessive risk-specifically for "adding to positions while in drawdown."

I immediately asked for proof. They sent one screenshot showing three BTC trades:

Two trades opened around 2:49 AM and 2:50 AM, both closed at breakeven.

A third trade was opened 10 hours later at 12:29 PM and closed with a small loss of $291.

The combined size of the first two trades was just 1 lot-well below the max position size for BTC.

I wrote a clear, professional breakdown explaining how this evidence didn't match their accusation. The trades were not stacked, not in response to drawdown, not over-leveraged, and didn't violate any risk parameters. If anything, their own screenshot proves I was trading responsibly. Their response? "That was just an example," and that there "may be more instances." No further proof. No counter to my breakdown. No attempt to actually explain how I breached anything. And now, they've completely stopped replying.

To be clear:

I followed their rules.

I managed risk properly.

I responded calmly with detailed logic.

They denied payout with vague reasoning, then ignored everything.

If you're a trader considering TraderScale, understand this: your payout can be denied with vague excuses, irrelevant evidence, and no transparency. They'll call it a breach, won't back it up, and then disappear.

This isn't just about money-it's about fairness and trust. I'm currently waiting for my Trustpilot review to be reinstated after submitting documentation, and I'll be posting this on other platforms too so people are aware.

If anyone else has had similar issues with TraderScale or other prop firms, feel free to share or reach out. And if anyone doesn't believe me, I'm happy to share the full email logs and screenshots-i've got it all documented.

Options Rate my position

This is my first trade of my life. Just started researching day trading and the stock market a few months ago and did some paper trading.

IONQ - put option. $22 strike price. Currently stock is priced at $20.68. Break even is $19.44. Expires 4/11.

On a scale of 1-10 rate my position here and please give some advice for a new guy trying to jump into the day trading space.

Technical analysis Mean reversion strategies

ā€¢ Upvotes

Is there anyone here that uses any sort of mean reversion strategy involving Bollinger bands, RSI and ADX? Started messing around with one on a 4h timeframe using a strict set of rules Iā€™ve been tweaking and itā€™s been promising so far. Iā€™m new to trading and still have a lot to learn. I also factor in market conditions and news related events to avoid trading during times where this strategy and technical analysis may not work.

Discussion Plan for a high volume of short dated puts across portfolio expiring this week

ā€¢ Upvotes

For those that were able to buy short dated protection (this week expirations across multiple dates) but spread it out across a variety of asset categories consistent with the portfolio, what is a reasonable strategy for someone that doesnā€™t intend to be a trader but happened to get lucky? What is a plan for the week.

Stop limits first thing in the morning? Immediate profit taking a roll out (seems wrong given premiums). Cut hedges in half and roll with house money?

I see a lot of technical reasons for a bounce between 4700-4850, but I also know the market could be calling the Adminā€™s bluff and will drive margin calls and action until they cry uncle.

I know thereā€™s really know right answer, but this is an unprecedented situation.

Thoughts? Just looking to crowd source some advice and options for a sophisticated long term investor non day/swing trader that wanted protection without going to cash.

Stocks My trading plan for tomorrow

I am not one that buys/sells stocks regularly. I created a portfolio many years ago and stuck to it. With that said, the events of this week are big enough that Iā€™m planning to make some bold moves:

  • Invest at least 20% of my portfolio on foreign stock ETFs
  • Invest another 20% or so in Pharma ETFs
  • My old portfolio was heavy on apple, which will get trimmed but not eliminated
  • I will short TSLA for about 5% of my portfolio as an aggressive hedge
  • I will pick one foreign automaker (prolly Toyota) who will benefit from the impending drop from US auto makers on the global stage and invest ~5% of my portfolio there

My thinking here is simple. The US went on an all out war with everyone else. Everyone else will feel pain, but has immense latitude to pivot across global supply chains; a luxury that the US just nuked for itself.

Even if tariffs get reversed, the long term damage is done. Congress has shown they have no backbone, so they canā€™t be counted on for a couple of years. The US burned decades of goodwill, with anti American sentiment at an all time high. The most visible US brands (especially cars) are fucked. This will be long term; therefore my re-balancing will be long term also

Options How should I play my ITM SPY500 puts?

The SPY500 puts I bought a few weeks ago may be ITM at open tomorrow. This is the first options contract Iā€™ve ever owned and Iā€™m trying to think through how to play my holdingā€”sell all, sell half, hold until expiration?

Itā€™s 8 contracts expiring 4/17, bought at $1.63, closed at $15.42 on Friday (current value $12k)

I had 15 contracts but sold 7 on Friday when the VIX spiked above 40, so Iā€™m already well ahead on the trade, but I want to maximize profits.

I also have 17 SPY400 puts expiring 6/20; not sure if that should change my thinking at all.

Appreciate any advice.

Stocks Still in the black, cash out now to reinvest?

Even with the downturn I'm still positive, just not by a long shot compared to what it was. I lost a ton of potential profits, but I'm curious if I just sit and let it ride or cash out now, take the profits and reinvest when the market hopefully goes lower. I believe with all the uncertainty the markets will still go lower, but truly nobody knows. Anyone have insight, opinions, thoughts on this?

Resources I built that Market Pressure Analyzer I posted about - now it's an API you can actually use!

Remember that tool I mentioned that shows who's REALLY controlling the market? You guys asked for a way to test it without seeing my code, so here it is!

I just launched an API where you can upload any OHLC csv and instantly see if buyers or sellers are in control. Works on any market, any timeframe.

Super simple:

  • Upload csv with OHLC candle data
  • Get instant analysis with confidence levels
  • See what I've been talking about!

I included BTC and Nat Gas example files, but try it on something you've traded - see if it catches those moves you missed (or confirms what you already knew).

The statistical model stays private, but the insights are all yours. Let me know what markets you test it on and if it matches your own analysis!

Github Link with further details!

Not financial advice, just a cool tool for extra insights.

Discussion iPad for trading?

I travel a lot which makes it not easy to use my laptop since it has no data and I cannot enter trades with no connection. I was wondering if an iPad would be a good idea for my situation since my phone screen is too small. I have heard about people doing this since it gives a larger screen but it is still touchscreen. (Sorry for bad English not first language)

Technical analysis Trading in current market situation

Hi guys, I just started trading using technical analysis and I donā€™t know if I started in right rime or not. I am sticking to proper risk management, psychology and my strategy but suddenly a news come up and market goes against me.

Is it normal or is the current tarrif and trade war situation not good for day traders? Should I wait and gain more experience paper trading or dive deep in news based trading?

Stocks Tell me you werenā€™t sentient during the recession without telling me.

It is a little funny to me to see new investors saying things like ā€œthis is definitely the bottomā€ after two days of the market dumping. Iā€™m not calling anything in the market, Iā€™ve seen enough to know that no one can actually predict what the stock market is going to do. But I can tell you this does not have to be the bottom. It can go a whoooooole lot lower. Buckle tf up folks!

Question Best offshore broker?

Hi, Iā€™m an experienced full-time trader whoā€™s been trading for many years, primarily focusing on commodities, metals, and indices. Currently, I have an account with a Swedish broker and also with an offshore broker (RoboForex), but Iā€™m struggling to sleep because of the horror stories Iā€™ve read on Trustpilot and similar sites about withdrawal issues.

Iā€™ve heard good things about IC Markets, but Iā€™m wondering if anyone here has experience withdrawing profits from their offshore accounts? Will they cause issues when I try to withdraw my money? Iā€™m concerned that I wonā€™t be able to withdraw my profits if things go really well. Do you have any other offshore broker recommendations for high leverage, good support, and reliable withdrawals?

Iā€™d love to hear about your experiences!

Taiwan has announced temporary restrictions on short-selling activities to stabilize its financial markets following the announcement of new import tariffs by U.S. President Donald Trump. The measures were unveiled on Sunday, April 6, 2025, by Taiwan's Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC).

Key Restrictions The new measures, which will be effective from April 7 to April 11, 2025, include:

Limiting the volume of intraday securities lending orders to 3% of the average daily trading volume over the previous 30 days, reduced from the previous 30%

Raising the minimum short-selling margin requirement from 90% to 130%

Restricting the number of shares that can be sold short

Rationale for the Restrictions The FSC implemented these measures in response to potential market volatility following Trump's announcement of new import tariffs. Taiwan's stock market was closed Thursday and Friday for a holiday and reopens Monday, meaning investors have not yet had a chance to react to the tariffs.

"The US's recent announcement on reciprocal tariffs has caused a sharp shock in the global stock markets, and Taiwan's market had not yet reacted given it was shut for holidays," the FSC stated. The commission added that the tariffs were "bound to create a number of major uncertainties for the stability of Taiwan's capital market".

Taiwan's Response to U.S. Tariffs Taiwan, a major producer of semiconductors with a substantial trade surplus with the United States, is subject to a 32% tariff under Trump's plan announced on Wednesday. President Lai Ching-te has stated that Taiwan will not retaliate with reciprocal tariffs but will instead work to improve the situation through talks with the U.S..

The presidential office indicated that Taiwan-U.S. talks could start from "zero tariffs," and that industries including electronics, petrochemical, and natural gas will seek to boost investments in the U.S..

Discussion Any traders who have been trading for over 2 years and are profitable?

It's coming up to a year and a half of trading for me, i have been backtesting my strategy on replay and have managed to collect a years worth of data and even added some extra losses sometimes just to make sure i'm not cheating myself.

The end result is (i don't remember exactly so i'm giving a rough answer of the top of my head) 35-40% winrate with an average of 2-3 RR. I had ~70 trades and ended with ~35% profit

I have backtested a lot in my earlier trading days but have never got around to replay until a couple of months ago, i once had 3 months of profitability until i started losing again, refined my strategy and it seems like now i can catch a lot more wins.

Profitable traders who were in a similar position as me, do you have any advice

What is the most obvious thing you think will happen in the markets in the coming week. Something that, if it happened and you didnā€™t make a play on it, youā€™d slap your forehead and go ā€œSTUPID, SO OBVIOUS!ā€
