Hey, I’ve just spent a month in Argentina and think you have a good mix, my only thought is if you’re into hiking you could do el chalten rather than Bariloche. El chalten was my favourite place in Argentina, you’re right on the door step of all the hikes so can walk right to them and the views are amazing. Whereas in Bariloche actually getting to hiking points takes a while and you’ll be going in peak season (which is when I was there and public transport was soo busy). It would also save you a flight and an evening as you could land in calafate, glacier the next day and go straight to el chalten that evening on the bus (only a couple hours) and get an extra day in el chalten.

I would say if you’re doing el chalten give yourself three days there at least as weather can be unpredictable and we had to have a chill day to wait out the wind before doing the big fitz Roy hike! Then after el chalten you’d have to get back to calafate to fly (I’m not sure if you could fly straight to Mendoza from there so that could rule el chalten out for you!)

Either way you’ll have a great time if you do go for Bariloche, it’s a beautiful place with lots to do!

Sure you’re very aware but as January is summer holidays in Argentina we definitely found things to be more expensive/busy so worth booking ahead as you’re doing! Let me know if you have any other questions, I loved Argentina so sure you’ll have an amazing time!
