Tom Leykis was a radio talk show host in the 90s and 00s. He used to discuss how he talked to women to get dates and keep girlfriends. He used to talk about the 'art of the back-handed compliment'.
Telling someone they look like a famous person = good
That famous person being know for being morbidly obese = backhanded
He used to use examples like:
"You've got really healthy and pretty hair, you know for guys who like short hair."
"You've got a great butt, if you like full bottoms."
"You're prettier than your mom."

It's like when you ask them if they think Lizzo is beautiful... They then gush about it.... Then you tell them they remind you of lizzo..... Haha

So....she just denied someone's trans identity...which is a hate crime in the UK.
The fact that is was her own trans identity that she denied is irrelevant. The hate speech legalisation makes no exceptions
