Question How moist is fruiting conditions supposed to be?

I've read some posts where people say they dunk their cake before fruiting. I've just kept it moist and humid and have pins. I wouldn't want to dunk it cause I've heard too much water will cause aborts in your pins. I've just been missing once or twice a day. I'm just curious if this will be good enough because I want them to have enough humidity and to be able to reach their full potential. Should I keep at it with the light misting daily? Will that be enough? I don't want to make my pins abort and I don't want too much water and create bacteria or mold or anything but I don't want it too dry.

I see you have a question! Have you read the official cultivation guide?

Im no vet, but I can say that as long as the surface has millions of micro droplets of water like so, you will be fine.

Also don’t forget about fresh air exchange. They will produce more CO2 as they get bigger.

I have humidity, as you can see. idk about micro droplets, though.

If you’re using a misting bottle that has a very fine spray, then a light misting should be sufficient. I usually keep a close eye on the surface itself. Once I don’t see the droplets on it anymore, I mist.

Idk that my surface ever had droplets on it. My surface absorbs all the moisture i spray on it.

Ooooh then, you need to spray until the moisture is on top. But not enough to cause any kind of pooling.

You may need to wait on the option of a more seasoned grower but it’s sounds you substrate was way under field capacity or has dried out quite a bit if the tub is just absorbing the mist. Maybe a heavy misting is needed but again, I would wait and see if anyone else has a better solution.

I know for certain that you don’t want to dunk her right now with the pins having formed already.

Yeah, I guess i would describe it is my substrate is definitely not dry it's definitely moist throughout, but it's also definitely not soggy.

Yea, there’s definitely some moisture in there. You’re taking the lid off to mist, right? Maybe try shining a light over it with the lid off. If it sparkles, then I would say your surface should be okay.

Yep definitely taking the lid off to mist and I'll have to give that a try. My pins are growing well so I'm guessing there's enough moisture. But I'm also worried about misting too much and making my pins abort cause I've heard that can happen.

I was just trying to to mist as far away as can from the tub so that the droplet fall onto them gently.

Alright I'll have to give that a try.

Mushies like it pretty humid though. I believe ideal humidity is around 90%.

Those are pictures from this morning to give a better idea.

Dunking is for second flush, after your first harvest. You should not be soaking your substrate before that. The linked guide has all this in detail.
