Meme Bens Original(the microwave ones) is made in Canada so the price is going to go up....

Some great value microwave rice is made in canada too. the rest is made in mexico. This is just about the microwave ones not the dry ones.

No, ever. Tarrifs are a tax imposed on those that import products from another country to the country from where the tariff originated. America instituted the tariffs, Americans will pay them. American companies that have to pay them will pass those costs onto the consumer, but as long as the rest of us don't purchase products from the American companies that have paid tariffs, then we don't ever have to eat any of that cost.

Congrats to the Americans for kicking an own goal. I wonder if they're tired of winning yet?

i mean, counter tarrifs exist. that's what my country is doing (not on uncle bens tho... we just leave it on the shelves to collect dust instead).

A tariff is a tariff mate. From a quick peek at your profile I'll assume you are Canadian.

- USA introduces tariffs on products from Canada -> USA pays more for products imported from Canada.

- Canada introduces tariffs in retaliation (a tariff to counter those introduced by the USA) -> Canada pays more for products imported from the USA.

Notice how they're the exact same thing?

If I (as an Aussie) purchase something from the USA right now, I pay no tariff. If I purchase something from Canada I pay no tariff. I'm only getting stung if I try to import a product into the USA for sale. I'm not going down the rabbit-hole of why each country has introduced tariffs, and I'm well & truly aware that the USA is to blame for all of this.

Yes! They have less moisture in them and are half the price. Them and Aldi brand are all I'll use anymore.
