u/Ok_Conclusion5966 15d ago
are next weeks anticipated earnings report any better, all the companies that reported this week suck
2
u/Far-Voice9907 15d ago
anyone know what carnival cruise reported for earnings
6
u/Ok-Resist8342 15d ago
Beat top and bottom. Down almost 6%. Makes sense in this market.
7
u/ex-astronaut 15d ago
Record-setting revenues, doubled their income from last year. But I bought calls earlier this week, so of course it's down.

Lennar and other home builders really have to give hella incentives to sell housing even when we have an insane housing shortage.
Honestly I don't like this long term. With Tariffs impacting material costs I think the homebuilders slow down and housing and rent rise even more squeezing the U.S consumer.
3
u/ManBearPig_1983 15d ago
Not to mention you gotta account for upkeep immediately since Lennar builds are fucking trash and you’ll need a new roof within 6-12 months.
3
u/Hot-You-7366 15d ago
not only will they slow down, they are gonna pass it through to the consumer so your parents/grandmas house now went up 25% in value. Existing homes will raise to match new build. Then comes rents because landlords can.
bommers account for 20% of the population but own 34% of US homes

“Where tariffs do have an impact, we intend to pass those costs along to our customers.” - MU earnings call
6
u/AI_go_boomboom 16d ago
Ofc, can't fuck with the bottom line otherwise the stock suffers
1
u/gameon-manhattan 15d ago
But the stock is suffering even after earnings beat and great guidance. Same thing happened with Marvel technology. Does the market hate semis now?
13
u/gatovision 16d ago
NKE at 2020 lows now. Gonna be a good buy soon but man that stock keeps getting pounded.
7
u/Potato2266 16d ago
China’s economy continues to be bad. Nike will not recover until China recovers.
4
u/DrunkRespondent 16d ago
Kinda bearish on it still given what we can expect over the new few months/year from tariffs and expected stagflation. Feels like luxury athleisure might stay down.
4
u/PutzOnDonleon 16d ago
They don't have the kind of brand power they used to either. Not many super star athletes carrying the brand , they release the same old shoes over and over, lost alot of the sponsorship deals they had over the years in various leagues with various teams. In pro or even college Nike was always front and center that's not necessarily the case anymore.

u/PutzOnDonleon 16d ago
Still holding MU 4/11 100ps I just need it to do what it always does.. sell the pump quickly

Imagine thinking they’d let any semi related company open green after earnings even if it was up 3000% after hours.
People still not going to learn after Nvidia and AVGO lmao.

I am never playing earnings again.
14
u/kkim121400 16d ago
same time tomorrow?
2
u/Opinionated_Junkie 16d ago
You misread. I said earnings. I am just doing leaps.
8
u/RagerSupreme2 16d ago
Sounding like me 6 months ago. Walmart was the last earnings I played. Thought I would be smart buying calls and puts and got cooked by theta decay. LEAPS are the only way, oh and SPY 0dte
5
u/AdPurple4902 16d ago
What a fucking joke MU is. Glad I hedged.

u/Ok-Dependent7349 16d ago
why did it go from +7 to +2 i dont get it

u/sreten-jr 16d ago edited 16d ago
Guidance was shit. If market wasn’t rigged against options traders it would’ve been down 5% off the bat
0
u/Ok-Dependent7349 16d ago
so 1 News Article on increasing memory demand from nvda wasnt enough DD?
0
u/sreten-jr 16d ago
Earnings estimates were lowered multiple times since last ER, people expected more.
0
u/Ok-Dependent7349 16d ago
but does that explain the slow sell off after the hike
0
u/sreten-jr 16d ago
Like I said, it was pumped so put options holders lose as well.
1
u/Ok-Dependent7349 16d ago
i see, but why did that not happen to nike or fedex? they just dropped and went sideways as expected
1
3
u/AdPurple4902 16d ago
I’m just as confused. It could reverse tomorrow
3
u/sreten-jr 16d ago
Technicals are very strong against MU. Stock has been in a classic bearish rectangle for months. Wouldn’t be surprised if it tanks hard next few weeks.

u/Ok-Dependent7349 16d ago
should have followed my first play to short nike and fedex but i decided to give my free cash to MU once again and again im disappointed

Went from $800 to about $1800, so honestly? Pretty good all things considered.

u/GarlicNatural7087 16d ago

made a lot from their stock the past year before their downturn, been buying calls, first time doing a put after looking at their financials. IV will crush calls and puts on this one.
2
u/Aromatic-Guide-2509 16d ago
So MU calls or nah, there’s some weirdos buying 100k OTM
2
u/Patrick_Liu 16d ago
120 and 125 calls have high open interests, then again do you honestly believe MU gonna go 20-25% up after earning?

u/Not4Reel 16d ago
Picked up a few MU Calls, NKE Puts, and QUBT Calls

Five was up 13% after hours. Now it's probably going to be red. Lol. Guidance was weak, and no company could beat the tariffs coming up soon... Damn tariffs are wiping consumer demand

u/PonyClubGT 16d ago
17APR25 5.00
I saw Kohls miss big, didn't remember Tilly's was even a store that existed and took the bet and got lucky... We'll see how Torrid turns out
2
u/djchanclaface 16d ago
Tillys worked well for me too.
1
u/PonyClubGT 16d ago
Ope should've inversed myself :(
2
u/djchanclaface 16d ago
I missed this one. Potential returns were too low and it felt wrong to short the big titty goth girls.

u/Patrick_Liu 16d ago
Please MU, don’t you dare shit the bed today again

u/True-Law7645 16d ago
Isnt QUBT also today? 03/20?
6
u/KindlyWrap3221 16d ago
Up or down
2
u/True-Law7645 16d ago
Well the earning report is going to be great... But the market and how it has been lately.. then the stock will go down.. so I am neutral/ Not bullish 🤣🤣 but hey still holding my shit( different stocks but also QUBT)
3
u/illegaltaco420 16d ago
NKE puts?
7
u/Star_Lord924 16d ago
Yeah I took a gamble on some 67p. Hoping NKE really shits the bed and that tariffs play a role in their horrible guidance and this shit tanks 15%
6
u/Hour-Negotiation2597 16d ago
I’m convinced, PUT it is then
11
u/Star_Lord924 16d ago
Not finanical advice at all. But my God do I need something to finally fucking hit. Been slaughtered last 2 weeks. Everything inverse common sense. With that I actually should have bought calls lol
3
u/beandude23 16d ago

u/Nicblaise2022 16d ago
FedEx stock is going down right now just little by little which makes me think it’s starting to be sold off or shorted
4
u/Creepy-Substance9512 16d ago
Agreed - decreased international demand and i imagine they will reduce guidance. But they might beat earnings given the incresed demand from Canada during the canada post strike.
Hard to say. In for April 17 250P
3
u/Nicblaise2022 16d ago
That’s honestly what I’m leaning towards but without much everything has been going down, I wonder if something will make it stay up or flat on earnings
