The market as a whole could be debated that is a bit too optimistic, assuming that Nvidia will be able to stay the #1 with everyone spending like crazy to but the chips is unreasonable.
That said, tesla is not a case like this. It is valued with the assumption that it will somehow invented something that isn't even close for them to get there and will revolutionize the world.
There is a big difference between "assume #1 company will continue to dominate" and "failing company will come up with a few inventions that will change the world with zero evidence"

u/Tigglebee 3d ago

Is there a genuine need for digital “super-intelligence”?
What is it?
Why?
To provide rich ignorant individuals with information others spent years if not lifetimes working on?
What remains for humanity?
4
6
u/mmcmonster 3d ago
The only need I see for a super-intelligence (SI) is to offload all the thinking to it. With the SI moving humanoid and non-humanoid robots around and humans living in a post-scarcity world.
The problem with it is that SI will probably lead to a few people with all the resources and the rest of us starving in caves.
Future's gonna be grim. :-/

*It’s now April 2, so for extra clarity (in case it wasn’t clear enough), note that the beautiful carriage turned back into a pumpkin at midnight. So I looked it up and basically he invested in amex when wall street had fucked then down for 8 months because AMEX's main profitable partner was discovered to be a fraudulent vegetable oil company. But the use of amex on main street didn't change, so he put 17 millions in it, by the late 60s their stock has doubled while the Dow fell by 6 point.

Nothing goes up or down in a straight line. Stocks don’t go down just because ppl short it. They go down from ppl capitulating. And capitulation takes time to happen.
You need a period of distribution from big holders and a lack of buyers to step up to cause a downturn. Smart money is definitely exiting slowly.
Tesla is probably cooked but it will take sometime for things to show up.

Could it be that Señor Musk is realizing that his team wealth, the shit he actually cares about, is being put in jeopardy due to his foray into politics and now he's trying to protect that? Is it possible that he misunderstood how popular he was or why anyone liked him to begin with? It should be obvious to anyone that this DOGE fuckery was a bad move and that he didn't have the mandate he thought he did, a common problem with egotists. And maybe now it's obvious to him.
Or maybe this is all just rumor and not real at all.

Michael Burry responded to my craigslist ad looking for someone to mow my lawn. "$30 is $30", he said as he continued to mow what was clearly the wrong yard. My neighbor and I shouted at him but he was already wearing muffs. Focused dude. He attached a phone mount onto the handle of his push mower. I was able to sneak a peek and he was browsing Zillow listings in central Wyoming. He wouldn't stop cackling.
That is to say, Burry has his fingers in a lot of pies. He makes sure his name is in all the conversations.
