Some of the stocks were so low that you had to close put positions. TSLA wasn't one of them. Same with NFLX. I took NFLX instead of TSLA and lucked out this morning on that dump. Sold NFLX puts expiring today, and now in TSLA puts for next week. Do I think tariffs between Trump and China is done here? Probably not. The guy does not like to lose, and would consider China's retaliatory tariffs to be losing. So, I expect something after market close today, or over the weekend. That doesn't even include Europe that could surprise the market over the weekend.

Vietnam already played balls, not saying China will do the same but the narrative is changing to Donny's side, his tariff is just the mean for negotiation.

Of course if EU and China truly wants to f*ck uncle Sam, they just need to coordinate on selling all US bonds, and at that point it would be a black swan event kind of dump.

I'm done with this week, all cash and follow JPow's 'wait and see' principle

Navarro was live on CNBC yesterday saying this is not negotiation.

Vietnam has nearly no tariffs on us already, mainly just things to protect their farmers, and composes like a percent or two of our imports. That is not especially meaningful.

I think the administration calculates tariff rate based on current trade deficit. Just looked it up, Vietnam's export/import with US is inline with 90% rate ($136B v.s $13B).

At 46%, it's roughly 10% of their current GDP, so it looks like they have no choice.

Yes lol, also known as blatantly lying. Reality is Vietnam tariffs are like 1%.

Correct, hence between that and their current near 0 tariffs, not especially meaningful.
