News regarding ELMS, however also a valuable information (sadly, not a positive one) regarding plans for a second 963 from Proton Competition at Le Mans:

For the second consecutive year at Le Mans, the first car listed on the reserve list is a Proton Porsche 963. It begs the question: Will the team withdraw one of its other cars to bring another Hypercar to the entry?

Christian Ried, the team’s boss, confirmed to DSC in the ELMS paddock that there are no plans to withdraw either LMGT3 Mustang or an ORECA from the list.

“There are no changes to our full season FIA WEC plans. Both of the LMP2 cars are full too for Le Mans and will race,” he said.

Any hope of Porsche’s second 963 making the entry lies with the unlikely prospect of another team pulling a car.

This also happened last year, no surprise. The LMP2 and GT3 entries bring profits for his operations (even when he puts his own son into one of the P2s). The Hypercar is a money burner and he will never withdraw a P2/GT3 to race it unless there is money falling from the sky.

The only cars at the event not silenced to 100db are the LMP2. Everything else runs at 100db max. I will not attend Silverstone as a result
