This is an insurance ad

We went from hating ad breaks on TV to watching ads for entertainment. What the hell happened?

The Superbowl.

10

u/ellecon 2d ago

What does r/superbowl have to do with all this?

11

u/Mish61 3d ago

Social media became smarter than you. I got shadowbanned for calling it out in r/art

I just explained that this is staged and people downvote me LOL

14

u/JamieMarlee 3d ago

It is staged. Yes. But the sentiment is still analogous to real life. I do this with my toddler! It's just a protective gesture.

u/thissexypoptart 3d ago

lol there have been at least 2 or 3 videos with different people and different settings (same country though) that do the exact same sequence of motions

It’s a skit. And at this point a skit that references other skits. Of course it’s not real.

It's okay! I upvoted you 😊

u/SmallAstronaut08 3d ago

Thank you, you're sweet!

Some people just don't want to live in reality anymore. I can't say I blame them too much.

I do cover corners for my clumsy loved ones though and will pass you a tissue if I hear you sniffle and I really like when someone does the same for me 🥰 So that particular clip may be staged but the actions are real

After being married for 30-50 years, it'll almost be a reflex or instinct to care and protect your wife. And big bonus points if the woman appreciates and loves him.

u/External-Bike4009 3d ago

If she doesnt then you will eventually stop doing those small things, its reciprocal, not one way.

4

u/alfazeroneko01 3d ago

Amen

It'll eventually end badly and an unhappy marriage will occur

After decades of being together, the bond becomes so strong that it almost becomes second nature to care for and protect one another.

2

u/alfazeroneko01 2d ago

That's very sweet and admirable.

I understand handing the tissue, but what did grabbing the corner have to do with fine behavior?

u/nathos_thanatos 3d ago

He put his hand there so she wouldn't accidentally hit a sharp corner while raising her head. It's really sweet and considerate.

35

u/Answerologist 3d ago

Thanks for explaining it to me!! Fine behavior on your part!

15

u/Little_Kimmy 3d ago

I do this for my husband who loves to hit his head on cabinets xD

7

u/External-Bike4009 3d ago

So you are  just saving on medical bills at this point.

1

u/No_The_Other_Todd 2d ago

we all do. it's the awesomest.

14

u/Worried_Description 3d ago

He covers the corner with his hand so when she comes back up she won't hit the corner. She wasn't even close, but it's still a very kind gesture to ensure she doesn't get hurt. :)

2

u/Explosion-Of-Hubris 3d ago

I think it's to make sure she doesn't hit the sharp corner when she gets back up.

4

u/alfazeroneko01 3d ago

Hitting your head on a corner hurts like a mother trucker. It applies to all genders and ages

3

u/MaidMarian20 3d ago

He might also be making sure her glass doesn’t get knocked over so she doesn’t accidentally get wet.

u/ItsNotTacoTuesday 3d ago

I know it’s staged BUT it’s so sweet, he does it automatically without even breaking conversation or eye contact, and then she pats his hand like she’s saying “thanks honey”. What a gentleman, what a sweet couple.

u/Rebrado 3d ago

Or you know, just a father and husband who has seen this happen too often.

31

u/SmallAstronaut08 3d ago

The video is fake and older than time itself.
I can’t believe people are still falling for this lol

3

u/MaidMarian20 3d ago

Just curious, How do you know the video is fake? lol. Makes me wonder What exactly am I falling for, a lesson in effortless good manners? Lol.

3

u/Juuber 3d ago

Others have pointed out its a commercial

2

u/MaidMarian20 2d ago

Ohhh, a commercial! Thats it! After looking at it again, their movements are so synchronized makes sense they might have been staged, and rehearsed. Got it. TIL how to better spot a fake. Thank you!

u/No_The_Other_Todd 2d ago

so randos on the internet. thanks.

The camera is perfectly still. No way somebody is holding it. Also, why would someone make a video at a couple talking into the store? What’s the point?

Snarkey for what? Expressing my opinion that the video is staged? Alright man, sorry that in your country don't allow you to express your opinion. Now get of the VPN and go touch some grass.

We’ve agreed it’s a tripod, can we focus on why the video was filmed in the first place? There’s nothing out of the ordinary happening in this interaction—just an object falling and a guy showing some mannerisms toward his lady.

Why go through all the effort of setting up a tripod and a camera in a store just to film a couple talking to a vendor? LMAO
Are you cooked? This is obviously staged.

2

u/FlixMage 3d ago

Nah no one’s being snarky you’re just angry that you were wrong lmao

5

u/DelightfulHelper9204 3d ago

That's priceless

2

u/Necessary_Share7018 3d ago

I move my wife’s glass away from the edge of the table every time she takes a sip. If I don’t, it will get knocked over. She’s a hand talker.

u/Legitimate-Koala-373 3d ago

Sooo precious 🛐💙🙏🇿🇦

u/jitterbug726 2d ago

Damn I don’t even get myself a Kleenex that fast

1

u/hatenames385 1d ago

I wish my husband was half that observant! I would have hit my head, chocked on the water and had to use the shirt to dry off!

1

u/Fluffy-Awareness8286 3d ago

I don't understand this fucking magic, and i hate the fact that i can't do that.

1

u/momomomorgatron 2d ago

I want to high five, shake hands, and hug you, wonderful Chinese husband

u/Thick_Detective_9298 3d ago

When treating your spouse as a toddler turns out to be a source of perpetual bliss.

-4

u/Potential-Wait-7206 2d ago

It might also be a sign of over controlling.

-4

u/Jeff_Portnoy1 3d ago

The dumbest shit I’ve seen

-5

u/Otherwise-Remove4681 3d ago

I’d ditch the clumsy mf if she managed to hit her head on that corner or whatever was the gesture for.
