The green is almost certainly from brake cleaner, which contain boron, I think borate salts from boric acid if I remember correctly.

Looks like copper (blue) nickel (blue/green) and iron (orange) but the orange and yellow flames could also be the carbon based solvent they have in the bottom of the tray. The metals oxidizing is what produces the color so they don't even need to be salts/solutions. In fireworks they often create color with metal powders that then burn in the air to produce those brilliant colors.

I wouldn't stand near that.
Knowing my luck one of the smaller gears would get hit weird, sent flying and smash into my face while spinning at high velocity, tearing a huge gouge of flesh and bone from my jaw and cheek.

This is awesome! This is also probably what we thought we were making it like as kids lol

I love that this could happen anywhere. Like I see the text at the top left but this could just as easily been some American red necks or country European folks doing the same thing. Fun is fun

So is this like, when they hit each other they each lose an equal amount of energy, and whichever ones runs out first is the loser? So the bigger one has a huge advantage even against 3 smaller ones?

anyone else see the outline of New Jersey in the bowl right before the flames????

Isnt the Beyblades already like this? My little brother had those metal attachments for the plastic tops and they had sparks

When Beyblades came out, I didn't care for them. I never understood all the hype. I get it now.

This has stupidly-expensive new modern art form written all over it. “No two are the same!”

And the green one keeps getting torched even after it surrendered. That’s brutal.

how isn't this a sport?
every player brings his own diy Beyblade and angle grinder, last one standing wins.
you can't change Beyblade in a league, if it breaks you're out,

This kind of stuff is why science class was always funner than English and math.

Aurora Borealis!? At this time of year, and this location, contained entirely in your beyblade pit?!

This was an anime boss fight if I’ve ever seen one. The instant power up, the three smaller but powerful protagonists, the twists and turns (literally), and the final stand off leaving you on the edge of your seat till the epic conclusion.

Makes me think that some motivated Beyblade fan could make a pretty cool live action fan film with practical effects. Just sayin.

Yoooo why did that low key feel like a anime final boss fight!! Hahaha Lol I was rooting for the three small ones to win for real.

I was really hoping I would unmute this video and some heavy metal would be playing to match the chaos.
I was disappointed

I remember this game being very different when I was a kid. I'm pretty sure there was a lot less fire and the top things were made out of plastic. I get that things change over time but I'm certain Vernon's Mom would never have let us play this in the basement while eating cereal and watching cartoons.
Hell, they had a giant ass patio, they were pretty well off, but I don't think we would have even been allowed to play out there. Their patio went right up to the woods and his Mom would have been concerned about setting the woods on fire. Also, there were some weird things that lived out in the woods and Vernon's Mom didn't want us upsetting them.

Comb your hair 'n paint 'n powder
You act proud and I'll act prouder
You sing loud and I'll sing louder
Tonight we're settin' the woods on fire

one would think the middle large one would stop first do to its weight, but it stops last do to it smashing the small ones around forcing them to slow down their momentum . If you ran them one at a time the large gear would have the least amount of run time. So more weight works in this scenario. why i thought about this is unknow :)

u/DaveIsAlwaysRight 4d ago
Large gear has much more angular momentum and kinetic energy, so would have more run time than the other three (provided they are given roughly the same initial angular velocity).

Suppose these 4 objects are balls of identical size and weight "as the ones in the video", rolled with equal force down a flat surface inside a building, free from external influences like wind. what ball would go the furthest ?

But also more friction slowing it down, so I feel like that could easily end up being a wash.
