China probably has like 100 economic/math experts calculating every strategic permutation possible.

Orange Hitler just put the entire future of the US economy on his favorite number... 0

That's not fair. It's already been shown that they're getting their strategies from chatGPT

"Today I am proud to announce my Beautiful new economic policy - Great Presidential Tariffs. By combining Elon's incredible knowledge of Computer with my skill in Business and Businesses we are going to Make America Great Again by allowing several robo- you're not gonna believe this, but it's true - robots - some call them "AI" - to impose and revoke tariffs on any countries that it deems Nasty or Corrupt. America will be BLESSED, STRONG, and most important GREAT AGAIN. #MAGA #GPT"

They say he decided on the formula three hours before the tariff speech. Good lord, Americans are so stupid for voting this moron in. It’s hard to really fathom

Having watched that tariff speech circus, there's absolutely no chance he had any involvement in coming up with these numbers. He 100% saw those numbers the first time during the speech .

I know he didn’t, others did for him. He had people developing a more advanced method, but he ended up just picking this one.

He did see the numbers. Let’s not protect him as if he was just ignorant about the whole thing, he knew what he was doing.

I enjoyed this indepth dive and mockery of Trump's tariffs.

The bizarre way Trump's team calculated reciprocal tariffs:

And you know that one Chinese guy doing math is automatic x100

Don has experts too, but their goal is wealth contraction. They sow chaos and rob everyone while the dust settles. We are well past the point of assuming he doesn't know what he is doing.

According to an article in Swedish media, insiders have said that Trump just suddenly decided what to do about three hours before announcing it.

He was presented with multiple options, including ones they had experts work out, and chose this idiotic one anyways.

Its this. Its just science vs trumps anti intelectuallism. China will hard surpass the US in the next couple of years because of this. Theyre just winning by replacing every soft power the us once had.

Make angry calls to all businesses that supported the Republicans, make angry calls to every Republican member, write angry letters to every Republican member, angrily protest at every rally, town hall, fundraiser, campaign event, public appearance, and any other gathering Republicans attend, spam propaganda against every Republican member on every social media platform and question the intelligence and integrity of every Republican member.

One problem I see with China being able to calculate possibilities: I’m doubtful they have any accurate numbers for their nation’s economics since it’s so riddled with false numbers.

I might be agreeing with you since it would lead to them calculating every possible outcome.

China probably has like 100 economic/math experts calculating every strategic permutation possible.

Where did you read this?

Every country (with the exception of the US - DOGE fired them) has experts whose sole responsibility is to perform that function. Maybe not every permutation possible, but the top scenarios for sure.

Canada has definitely done this in the past (booze and Harley's during trumps last tenure). The plan with that was to pressure the red states while minimizing the pain to the blue states. It actually worked quite well.

The problem with his blanket tariffs is now the entire world is affected, not just a few countries. There is now significant consensus that trading will need to go ahead without the US.

From outside the US, it really looks like Trump just kicked off the Great Depression 2.0. Time will tell, but it is already too late to pull back and go to normal relations with the world. With the abdication of soft power throughout the world, the USD will lose its reserve currency status. I don't think most people in the states quite realize that, or admit it if they do.

From inside the U.S., your last paragraph looks to be correct. A lot of Americans now think the the U.S. has its status because of "magic" or "because we're cool". They don't understand the concept of carefully playing the game to remain on top.

I think you maybe misunderstood him. The point he's making is that China is very calculated in situations like this, whereas the Trump led government is passing out tariffs to uninhabited nations of penguins.

Voted for by morons, staffed by morons. American stupidity strong.

3

u/haterofslimes 1d ago

Correct.

You don't have to read it anywhere. You just have to know China and their strong emphasis on STEM, education, and long-term view. Trump might as well have run on a MAKE CHINA GREAT platform because he has opened every door for them.

Business needs stability. That's not the USA, and it isn't Russia.

I think even the Chinese were laughing at the Rose Garden Liberation thing. No one will ever convince me that Trump is smart. He can only exist in chaos.

I mean just look how china operates with anything.

Do you know what a University is? Or what they do? Very curious.

3

u/TonySu 1d ago

University is where they do woke and gay stuff right? Except for Trump University, where you learn you make the best steaks in the world.

2

u/nuttininyou 1d ago

What do universities have to do with "China probably has like 100 economic/math experts calculating every strategic permutation possible."

The US also has universities, so do they probably have like 100 economic/math experts calculating every strategic permutation possible?

"Yea, but that's different." Yea, it's different, eh? So then it has nothing to do with what I responded to.

1

u/Warin_of_Nylan 20h ago

You could have just said "no."

The US also has universities, so do they probably have like 100 economic/math experts calculating every strategic permutation possible?

Yes, we did. Past-tense. Do you have any other questions you're confused about that I can clear up?

u/Iwantthe86 1d ago

You really under estimate the US... As an outsider with common sense who has no ties to your country, you clearly don't understand how favourable this all is for the US... short term pain for extreme gain. China is the loser in all of this.

As another non-American; the fact that all your comments on his topic are literally just you repeating what Trump has said on Truth Social while accusing anyone who disagrees of thinking emotionally while claiming you are doing "facts and logic" just invalidates your opinion on this.

No, this is not some 5D chess from Trump.

No, this will not save the west while hurting China, nor are they making mistakes because of "panic".

No, putting tariffs on uninhabited islands (or a US airbase) is not some attempt at "closing loopholes". They just fed all ISO codes into ChatGPT and didn't bother vetting the results.

Anyone who actually believes these things has zero idea how international trade, economy and relations work.
