Yup. Softpower takes decades to amass and cost billions. USA just wasted all of theirs for nothing.

Hey, 30% of American voters wanted this and another 30% didn't think the election was important enough to show up. I hope they're happy getting the exact economy they wanted.

While the 30% of us who voted for Harris get to be smug about being right.

But why can’t I just have good leadership instead of getting to be smug? I’d so rather just have good leadership :,(

Yeah, the feeling of being right about something shitty happening is a very limited comfort.

And Harris herself too. This gave me a good chuckle, but drove the Conservative sub absolutely wild lol.

Did she laugh? If so, definitely.

Being smug about being right is something only a child appreciates.

You don't get to be smug until you clean up your fucking mess.

My country is about to be invaded and you think you should be smug? It's pathetic. Take action. Solve the problem. You have an entire amendment in your constitution specifically to do that.

American Republicans are synonymous with evil and stupid, and will be forever known as such. Americans who oppose Republicans are just spineless cowards, and they'll keep that association until they clean up their fucking mess.

Honestly, just leave.

There is no reason to stick around, the country is doomed, it's quickly moving into a fascist dictatorship with poor economic policies and it's going to rapidly decline.

Get out and set yourself up somewhere else. Any family that voted for Kamala, convince them to go with you.

The country literally needs to fall apart to be rebuilt. Do you want to be there when it collapses? You leaving and not paying taxes will hasten it.

From your posting history, I take it you live in New Zealand? Do you know anything about your country's immigration rules? It's nearly impossible to immigrate where you live. There's alot of factors to that, and I'm not begrudging those rules set in place. But just acting like it's possible to up and leave a country is fairly ignorant.

Canada and Europe also have very stringent immigration policies. It's tough to get a green card, let alone full on immigrate. Canada specifically has a housing crisis right now and are looking to tighten their already strict policies. I had a coworker who got a green card to Finland, and he wanted to permanently move there. But he got screwed by their bureaucracy and was forced back to the states.

Mexico is in a tough place politically and economically. There's not really anywhere in Central or South America that is in a good place to take on a large swell of Americans fleeing the shitstorm.

Asian countries are very anti-immigrant as well. Both in policies and in acceptance of people who have different ethnicities. Maybe I should check out Australia. Haven't looked into their immigration policies yet.

More to the point, just telling people to leave a country is stupid. Immigrants are treated as second class citizens in almost every country. Actually getting into those countries can be close to impossible unless you live as part of the 1%. Even people with advanced degrees are pretty regularly turned away. My brother studied in France and Germany but had to leave because the bureaucracy screwed him over.

The country literally needs to fall apart to be rebuilt. Do you want to be there when it collapses? You leaving and not paying taxes will hasten it.

That's not how anything works. Syria was decimated in a long running civil war and might be starting to rebuild. Destruction does not bring rebuilting. It's always harder to build when the foundation has been destroyed.

MAGA crowd really thought that if the billions the government spent on soft power was no longer being spent on soft power that some morsel of it would trickle down to them instead of being entirely consumed by domestic corruption lol.

Hey it's not for nothing. A handful of dipshit narcissistics got to pretend in their power fantasy for a few months longer. Totally worth the sacrifice of decades up building up American diplomacy and infrastructure.

Men as insecure as Trump (and his cabinet) and Elon Musk don't have the patience to amass soft power, and they definitely don't have the humility to be its custodian. It's what Putin bet on and won.

…and cost billions.

…and cost Trillions and also millions of lives.
