Nah we didn't, we paid so far 2 billion for US subs instead of french ones as part of AUKUS, most likely we get nothing.

At least labor is now pushing to scrap it. About bloody time. Next we close pine gap, and the base in Exmouth. The US is a national security risk.

I understand why Bojo wanted the deal but what the fuck was Scott Morrison smoking? He could absolutely have negotiated pillar 1 of Aukus (which by itself is a great deal) AND involvement in the AUKUS class, without needing to fuck up the Barracuda contract. He won absolutely nothing with that. Were they seriously expecting the US to have Virginia class subs to spare when they’re barely making them at half the rate they need?

This was on top of the French offering us their nuclear submarines and technology transfer. Scomo ripped it up because he's stupid.
