Is there a little mermaid reference in the first pic? Looks like one of the buildings says Ariels Grotto buy I can't quite make it out

I believe the word hook on the right side of the screen is also probably referring to a Captain hook's building

This is exciting. Especially after seeing the same stuff for 8 years now.

I am so hyped, but it kinda sucks we still have to wait over a year to see the movie.

I think it's worth the wait. Best to have something more polished than something rushed that will be terrible.

Hmm..."chili logs". This looks to me like some beaver-dominant town. Like how Bunnyburrow was rabbit-dominant. Perhaps Nick and Judy are vacationing together? Dare I suggest they're on honeymoon? It's pretty clear both from the construction and design of Nick's hat that it's a traditional Good Ol' Boy Fishin' Hat.
I know foxes eat fish, and IIRC there were places that advertised seafood in the arctic sector of Zootopia. It should be noted that neither rabbits nor beavers eat fish. The walrus plumber is probably going to be an interesting character. I have a nasty suspicion that the fellow in the jester outfit is going to be a red herring and the beaver guiding Our Heroes is the villian's right-hand-man. He just has that kind of shifty look in the last picture.
Let there be rampant speculation!

There’s a clip of this scene. Judy and Nick are in the marshlands (unclear if this is zootopia proper or an outlying area). They’re looking for a snake (unclear why). In the marshlands we see several aquatic animals, including a beaver, a walrus, a hippo, and a sea lion

I just saw that clip, and clearly I was off! Ignore my speculation as just more nonsense!

I've been curious from the start how predator species, especially obligate carnivores like cats, get the nutrition they need. We've got reptiles shown as I guess being up there with the mammals, so my guess is fish and poultry? We haven't really seen any birds in the world of zootopia, so maybe there's a thriving chicken farming market. XD

That's the going theory on the matter among us furries. It seems--and let me put a whole lot of emphasis on the word "seems"!--it seems like only the mammals are sentient, so everything else is fair game. We see a walrus eating a fish in the newest clip, so there's that, but we also see the dynamic duo hunting for a villainous snake straight out of Disney's Robin Hood and Jungle Book movies. Though I suspect he's going to be more like the snake fellow in the recent Bad Guys movie than some version of Sir Hiss or Kaa. I have the suspicion that all we can do is wait and see what worldbuilding they do...and expect it to be done sloppily and inconsistently. From what I'm hearing about the most recent Star Wars stuff, I'm starting to think worldbuilding isn't di$ney's strong point. I'm expecting a hasty retcon and "Uuuuuhhhh...oh, yeah. Snakes are the exception!" Then it gets retconned again. Yeah, you can tell what a pessimist I am about this, I'm sure. I wouldn't be surprised to see a rooster whistling a country song, either.

If posted about this a few times but I'm guessing it has something to do with a drug like night howlers that does the reverse and gives animals sentience. Its like the entropic brain theory. The best plot I can think of is an organization creating sapient reptiles for some unknown reason, as we can see a chameleon agent in one of the images. I'm guessing the snake escaped and judy and nick will have to find him and then find the organization turning reptiles sentient and free the other reptiles who are basically prisoners. The chameleon could be hunting the snake, and that's why they picked an animal that can blend in and become invisible such as a chameleon.
On one hand I think disney is too dumb to do this but on the other it's very similar to the first movie so it could be deemed a safe plot. My issue is I don't think the plot can deviate from mine too much and still be good, like if reptiles just found random plants in the wild and turned sapient, making like a secret reptile city. Or the even stupider plot of there being a whole undiscovered city of reptiles in the world.

Yo, who’s that beaver dude? New third protagonist maybe?

Probably just a one scene character they meet up with to find the snake. I assume Gary will be the tritagonist of the film since it is Ke Huy Quan voicing him and I think they want to dig deep into the reptile portion. I wonder if in the sequel Nick will get some flashbacks and if at all possible, reptiles are connected to his childhood. Wonder if they’d add in some Easter eggs like turtles eating pizza in the reptile city.

It’s weird seeing all the new things in official footage (the new clothes, fish, reptiles, etc.) after 8 and a half years since the original movie came out.

I wonder where Walruses & Sea Lions fit in the whole predator/prey dichotomy? Probably similar to otters in that they’re technically classed as Predators, but don’t get much grief over it due to being piscovorus.
