you guys seemed to like the photos I took of my wife trying on a dress. Here she is returning home after wearing that dress at her film premier. Our dog is the best. We both missed her like crazy.

This was incredibly hard for me because I rarely leave the house, let alone talk to strangers. But I my local historic town was doing a festival for authors and a local butcher shop sponsored me.
I got a quiet corner, and I faced my fears.
Did I shut down when people talked to me, yes. But I got through it and I talked to people and it was all okay.

Thomas is 15 and lives in a group home in Ohio. He's a sweet, empathic kid who loves animals, especially cats. Since he lives in a group home and can't have a pet, he enjoys visiting the local shelter whenever he can to play with the animals.
Recently, Thomas was asked about his favorite possession and what brings him joy. He shared that it was his R2-D2 Lego set and expressed how much effort went into completing it, as well as the pride he felt in finishing it. Unfortunately, the Lego set was accidentally broken by another kid in the group home.
This other child was having a difficult time and became very emotional, which led to an incident where he accidentally knocked the R2-D2 Lego set off the shelf. Despite the circumstances, Thomas feels empathy for what the other young man was going through. He said he knows the incident was unintentional, but Thomas was absolutely devastated when his Lego set broke.
The situation was made even more difficult because he never managed to recover all the pieces, nor did he have the instructions to reassemble it. Thomas spent weeks trying to find the missing pieces and put it back together, to no avail. His caregivers noted how challenging this experience was for him, so they even held a small funeral for the broken Lego set to help him cope. It would be incredibly therapeutic and healing for Thomas to build another one, as this event has really stuck with him.
We posted this story to the One Simple Wish social media pages and it was granted in minutes. We wanted to share it here because Reddit is a big reason why One Simple Wish continues to grow and be able to grant so many wishes to kids and young adults impacted by foster care and crisis.
If you want to see all the other wishes waiting, please visit us at onesimplewish.org
We also have an AMA at I’m the founder of One Simple Wish, a charity to spread love & joy to kids in foster care & those who aged out. AMA : r/AMA that has lots of great info and probably answers most questions you might have about us. :-)

When sick kids who need surgery bring in their sick stuffies, I’ll fix them too…with consent of course!
