Detained Tufts student has suffered three asthma attacks in ICE custody, Mass. lawmakers say

That's just part of life, man. You run your mouth, people make assumptions about you and you walk away with a bad reputation. You earned it for yourself! And complaining about it, swearing at me... just makes you look like a little wimpy boy.

Who cares if you donate money, if you're going to boast about it to save face after embarrassing yourself saying ignorant crap online? The people you donated to would probably say "no thanks" if they read what you just posted.

It honestly sounds like a way to make yourself feel better about being a selfish, uncaring person. A virtue signal you can whip it out for cred if you ever come under fire for airing your ratty, disgusting attitude in public.

God damn, the kind of men we raise in this society these days. Fragile and pathetic.

Yes, the spider has already made its web, it just hasn't come to bite us yet.

Are there any signs of panic buying in you community?
 in  r/massachusetts  1d ago

Complete downfall of civilization is a bit much lol

But yeah, we're gonna have a fucking recession

I imagine if we actually do get a Gestapo at the same time as a supply shortage, they will use Reddit posts like this to locate people who are "locked and loaded in their bunkers" and take their supplies

It really depends on what happens over the weekend.

We will either see a deeper stock market crash on Monday, if it's bad news, or we will see a dead cat bounce if it's good news or quiet, and an epic crash next week.

If you don't think the market's going down further, you haven't been reading the news.

You don't really care about Americans. I am an American. I know for a fact you wouldn't lift a finger for me.

My grandfather fought in WW2. When he shot a Japanese soldier, he gathered up the man's papers and mailed them back to his family. That was the enemy. They didn't deserve shit. They were a brutal army that rampaged all over Asia, torturing and killing people. But he did that for those men anyway, after he shot them, because they were human. It wasn't ever about wishing harm or suffering to them... It was about stopping them from harming others.

You care about yourself. That's why you're okay with other people like this suffering. And if it were you in their position, you'd probably suck your thumb like a little baby.

Word. Just being a respectful, honest person, a good neighbor, a good family member and friend... that's an act of resistance against the selfishness and loneliness in our world.

Police expect anti-Trump protests to be peaceful in Portland, plan to help marchers move through streets
 in  r/Portland  2d ago

Yes, for the love of god, no anti-police shit. No chanting to break the law. We're protesting elected officials who break the law, not public servants who enforce them. Even if you think police are fundamentally problematic, it's just a bad look for the protest. It's asking to be spun into another tale of rioters and looters.

We need to focus on winning and being strategic, not demanding the immediate abolition of every injustice in this fucked up world all at once. If we can just get a grip on our chaotic political situation, we might actually have the power to start changing some of those things. Right now, the whole movement is backsliding. This is a chance to turn it around.

April 5th Portland Protest Mega

You're already bending the knee and you don't even know it yet.

Don't spread that fearful, compliant mentality here. I see what you're doing in this thread. Shame on you!

If you don't want to go, then stay home, and if you want to go but you don't want to end up in a photo or video, then wear a face covering.

Increasingly I see him becoming the sort of character who's constantly frustrated that his plans aren't successful and nobody feels sorry for him because his plans were kinda fucked up to begin with.
