Special Battle | Closed 200,000 Subscribers and Reddit Ad Battle
/r/photoshopbattles is about to pass 200,000 subscribers, and it just so happens the reddit admins have given us some site-wide ad space! What better prize for this special Battle, than the opportunity to have your work featured site-wide?
There is no stock image for this battle; you have complete artistic freedom in creating your entry. However, it will have to pass reddit's 'non-intrusive' ad standards, so there are a few basic rules:
Images need to be 300x250
File size must be below 30 Kb
If you win the battle, and your image is larger than 30 kb, we will apply compression to the image before sending it to the admins
.png files are preferred, but jpeg can work too
Unfortunately, .gifs cannot be used
Must be safe for work (no gore / nudity / etc.)
Preferably no swear words
As a side note; despite how it looks, we aren't shifting /r/photoshopbattles' focus to pulling in as many subscribers as possible. We're just happy there's so many people who either participate or just enjoy the content you guys produce.
Oddly enough, the ad space was offered to one of the mods over a month ago in exchange for something else. We just thought it'd be fun to let the community design and choose an image to promote /r/photoshopbattles.
The winner of this weeks battle will:
Have their image featured site-wide in an ad-space for /r/photoshopbattles
Recieve 3 months of Reddit Gold!
Get a number added to their contributor flair.
If you haven't won a battle before, your standard flair will be replaced by this winners' flair. If you've already won one battle, you'll get this winners' flair, etc.
Get to keep our trophy flair for a week, after which it's handed on to the next winner.
(more information on flair here)
SIMPLE RULES
Submit your entry as a comment to this thread.
Every entrant gets a flair. These will be handed out when the battle ends.
You can also edit someone's entry as your own. This can go back and forth. Each submitter is allowed multiple entries.
During the initial 48 hour no-voting period, every entry will be removed and replaced when voting opens.
Please be sure to tag NSFW entries appropriately.
Downvotes DO NOT count. (Please do not downvote appropriate content)
Vote for as many entries as you like.
Battle will end on Saturday September 14th, 2013.
We are using contest mode for this thread which obscures the vote count and the sorting order.
Good luck and have fun!
Edit: It appears we've neglected to mention last weeks winner/winning entry. Apologies to /u/fatdonuthole, who nabbed the trophy in Battle 79:
Original Image: Mod on a Unicycle
Winning Entry: Is he a mod of /r/tron?

Ooh, I like this. Reminds me of the /r/books advertising contest we did a while back.

I suggest swapping it so it says "The War of Art".

I did actually do a War of Art version but thought Art of War looked better. I am at work at the moment but will post it when I get home.

*Also could change wording to have "Are you not entertained?" on the top and "Come to /r/photoshopbattles" on the bottom.

I think these are amongst the best, and would work well if the ad could have an image rotation. It gives a real sense of what we're about.

As someone who just spectates because of lack of skills, I just want to say you guys are awesome. Keep up the good work. Hopefully more people will discover this awesome sub. Also, I like these the best. The top one especially.

What font is this? I like it.

u/DaminDrexil Sep 13 '13
Beautiful, isn't it? That particular one is Futura Light, but the whole family is just as good.

Some of my favorite things use this font... Are they my favorite things because they use this font?

Brilliant! It's a pity you submitted so late, though.

thanks. I don't get why there is more time to vote than there is time for submission. I could have sent it earlier, but then it would look shittier.
It should be more like Worth1000, like one week to submit, another week to vote, and the next contest starting between those two weeks.

"I'm new here, [C]heck out my butthole"

u/Spankler Sep 13 '13
At first I laughed because of the context. But then I laughed even more when I read it again and saw the [C]. Thanks.

3 because I couldn't decide. First one is top post of all time, second is mine, and third is my personal favorite shop.

E: Fixed my resolution.

u/Nomlin Sep 13 '13
you botched the resolution. 300x250 not 250x300.
