Its real sad that Garney is leaving this title, because once again he's on amazing form, all the heroes look incredible.

Good twists and turns as always from Soule, very interested to see how the ending resolves itself.

And also I'll eat my copy of #600 if Muse is really gone.

10

u/Just_shut_up_bro Namor Mar 28 '18

Muse REALLY needs to be one of those villains that keeps coming back, every issue with him I enjoy more because of his involvement.

7

u/gaffergamgee Mar 28 '18

Absolutely. I hope they never really try to explain his origins or the true scope of his powers, the mystery lends to his creepiness.

5

u/imaxwebber Mar 29 '18

i though he was just an inhuman

3

u/Jiggyx42 Apr 01 '18

It was never revealed. He was being pursued by the inhumans because he was murdering many for art

Do we know who's replacing Garney? Cause those are some big shoes to fill.

7

u/gaffergamgee Mar 28 '18

It's Mike Henderson, I believe.

7

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '18

This series is on fire! A barrage of awesome twist after twist, I love it.

8

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '18

Holy shit that ending.

6

u/Perjunkie Mar 28 '18

Loving this series. Also love when all the street guys work with each other. Definitely hope we get more events with just these guys.

Looks like we’re in the final stretch. Everything seems to be coming together. I’ll be sad to see it go but This also feels like something his run has been building towards. If bullseye shows up again he’ll have tied up everything.

3

u/Joker_CP Green Goblin Mar 30 '18

Damn if that's really the end of Muse I'll be really disappointed. He's one of Marvel's best new characters

u/Ptylerdactyl Groot Mar 27 '18

15

u/blackbutterfree Mar 28 '18

So... All of these kids are... Dead. And now the sole survivor is joining the team under the leadership of the woman who killed them? That's... I'm sorry, that's just dumb.

13

u/Red_Paladin_ Wolverine Mar 29 '18 edited Mar 29 '18

I'm really hoping that they all survive, and that Xorn heals them when he returns with Jimmy and Bloodstorm...

On a side note I'm glad it was clarified to be Ultimate Malice, and that Lorna overcame her influence by herself, also good to see Daken being brought in, I'll be interested in seeing how Jimmy's Organic Metal claws stand up to those Adamantium Swords...

21

u/Perjunkie Mar 28 '18

Yeah Evil Havok was dumb when it was introduced. Dumb when it continued. Dumb in Death of X. It was ok during IvX when he was more of a anti-hero. And it's still dumb now.

They took the guy that was supposed to be the new icon for peaceful mutant integration into society and turned him into a radical supremacist. The X-Men were also supposed to be an analogy to the civil Rights movement. Let that sink in.

At this point Iron Man became good again. Sabretooth is definitely almost evil again. Havok needs to turn back asap.

7

u/Red_Paladin_ Wolverine Mar 29 '18

I'm kinda digging Evil Havok, I find him far more compelling than he's been previously, I just hope they don't try and force him back together with Lorna, I realize a lot of people are nostalgic about them but in my opinion they are both better off apart at present, though I really felt bad for Shaw this issue, going from evil mastermind to just getting used and thrown aside, by a sinister cabal...

12

u/let_that_sink_in Mar 28 '18

Let that sink in

Seriously? Where the hell did that sink come from?

4

u/Perjunkie Mar 28 '18

I dunno, but be hospitable my dude.

2

u/demaxzero Mar 29 '18

Sabretooth is definitely almost evil again.

No he isn't.

3

He's walking the line. They made that much clear in the last Uncanny X-Men

Loved that adult peter is using his 90's animated series look while young peter uses the spectacular series look

13

u/JakeM917 Mar 28 '18

Came here to comment this. Put a big smile on my face.

6

u/Fiti99 Mar 28 '18

Yeah at first i though it was a coincidence that young peter had that look but then adult peter came out, i cant forget that t-shirt

26

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '18

Pretty good story. So Theresa is indeed his sister, and plus the adult Peter has fucked up the timeline for good.

20

u/Onisquirrel Mar 29 '18

So glad they’re letting Theresa be his real sister instead of going with the memory trick. Of all the retcons you can have one that results in giving Peter a confidant who’s also family is a really nice one.

Also Family Business reads as a better story if you assume Theresa is his sister.

8

u/Kaeyne Mar 28 '18

Called it after the last issue!

Don't boast with future knowledge, kids. That can only end in tragedy.

20

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '18

Mr. Jameson and Norman Osborn in both timelines. Dammit man

19

u/JakeM917 Mar 28 '18

Was that Jessica Jones at the beginning?

14

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '18

Yep!

6

u/JakeM917 Mar 28 '18

Making sure. I’ve never read a single one of her comics but knew she went to high school with Peter.

17

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '18

Yep she went to high school with Pete and used to masturbate to the human torch. You should read alias!

9

u/AlphonseBeifong Mar 30 '18

Well who hasn't masturbated to the human torch?

6

u/RockstarSuicide Scarlet Spider Apr 01 '18

sue?

6

u/blackbutterfree Mar 29 '18

Are you sure? I thought Teen Jess had a short cut, in brown.

8

u/Kurolegacy27 Mar 29 '18

It seems that ever since the Netflix show, Marvel has been synergizing Jessica and pretending that she has black hair (aside from in her own solo book oddly).

6

u/[deleted] Mar 29 '18

They focus on her a lot and call her Jessica. I think it’s definitely supposed to be her.

4

u/blackbutterfree Mar 29 '18

Oh, I didn’t see them call her name. That makes sense.

15

u/TarHeelG99 Mar 28 '18

This is an awesome series. Love the back-to-basics but still interesting story.

14

u/HughyHugh Silk Mar 28 '18

I wonder if Spectacular is going to reference Cindy as well - right now, she should be training with Ezekiel

9

u/MadEorlanas Mar 29 '18

I'm LOVING this arc so far, especially the Jonah angle.

5

u/JonathanL73 Venom Mar 29 '18

I read older Spidey in TAS 90's voice, younger Spidey in Tom Holland's voice, and Jessica Jones in Krysten Ritter's voice.

5

u/obstobicloth Mar 28 '18

I'm getting flashbacks to the 90s animated series all throughout the issue, especially the end scene and the shirt adult Peter is wearing.

4

u/BlueHero45 Mar 29 '18

It's a diffrent universe but it seems rather unethical to completely uproot the chain of events like they are. Still, lots of wish fulfillment.

2

u/HughyHugh Silk Mar 31 '18

Hoping this is good and leads into a new series.

EDIT: It was good.

EDIT 2: Judging by the final page it looks like they'll decide whether or not to continue making Blaze comics based on how well this issue sells. They even say for readers to e-mail them asking for more.

8

u/mysaadlife Mar 28 '18

Loved the Noto art, this issue was seriously badass. Flaming elephants and Mad Max sequences isn't something I expected but it was dope as fuck.

5

u/gaffergamgee Mar 28 '18

Picked this up 'cause its Johnny Blaze with a Crain cover, but I haven't been reading Damnation.

Noto isn't necessarily who I would pick to put on a title like this, as much as I usually like him, its just a bit too clean for the premise of this issue.

2

u/tehawesomedragon Loki Mar 28 '18

Yeah, I love Noto, but I agree. I would love to see someone like Filipe Andrade (recently did Old Man Logan 14 & 15, and the Secret Wars Siege series) or Juan Doe do art for a Ghost Rider series. Heck, even Genndy Tartakovsky would be cool.

2

u/sonofaresiii Mar 30 '18

I can never keep Ghost Rider's identity, origin or abilities straight. It seems like every time he shows up, it's someone/thing different.

I hope what they laid out here sticks around a while, because it was pretty cool.

u/s7sost Mar 28 '18

This issue solidified my commitment to subscribing to the upcoming Immortal Hulk by Al Ewing (as if I wasn't already, pfft), because holy shit that was awesome.

By the way, is this the first time Rogue absorbs Hulk's powers? At the very least she looked surprisingly in control so she must've done it before.

7

u/Domeee123 Mar 29 '18

She absorbed She hulks power before

4

u/s7sost Mar 29 '18

That's close enough I suppose.

3

u/Zwarrior2 Mar 31 '18

She absorbed Hulk's powers in Remender's Uncanny Avengers #21 (along with every other hero they can get).

I did notice that they forgot to make her green for a page after Hulk broke the Pyramoid, something to fix for the trade.

4

u/s7sost Mar 31 '18

I did notice that they forgot to make her green for a page after Hulk broke the Pyramoid, something to fix for the trade.

I figured she was in the process of calming herself down but got really upset at Voyager when she was trying to explain herself and hulked out again.

→ More replies (3)

20

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '18

Another really fun issue! I like that Voyager isn't a one-off villain pawn- at least not yet. I heard some writer or editor somewhere mention Voyager would appear in Quicksilver: No Surrender though.

21

u/Perjunkie Mar 28 '18

If my count is correct this is the FIFTH time. The FIFTH time in this event Cannonball has been used to fly at his opponent and instantly get knocked away. Jesus, this is annoying to read...Other than that it was a fun issue.

16

u/s7sost Mar 28 '18

Well he is, after all, nigh invincible when flying.

8

u/dmanny64 Mar 28 '18

when blasting*

12

u/TheeHeadAche Ultron Mar 28 '18

flying at his opponent is his entire thing...

But I can understand the frustration.

14

u/Perjunkie Mar 28 '18

My critique is that he has been constantly used to be instantly defeated.

7

u/TheeHeadAche Ultron Mar 28 '18

I gotcha. Him being the jobber sucks and I hope they get him out of that rut. It is sad that’s all he’s done/been utilized as so far.

6

u/AliveProbably Mar 28 '18

It is a bit annoying how many of the characters are just fodder so that a couple favorites can seem way stronger and cooler in comparison. I dunno, this whole event is very middling. I want to like it, so I'm still picking it up. Hopefully the ending has great payoff.

2

u/suss2it Apr 01 '18

I doubt it will. We know what the Avengers are gonna look like after this event and we know none of these writers will be on the book. This honestly feels like a filler “event” to buy time until Aaron’s book is ready. I wouldn’t expect any grand payoff from this.

2

u/burnerfret Mar 28 '18

No writers remember that he can use the blast field to redirect the force directed at it.

9

u/blackbutterfree Mar 28 '18

Yass, Voyager! Come through with that last minute redemption! I mean... I kinda called it when the event was first starting, but I assumed she wouldn't know she was a Grandmaster Pawn.

This makes it so much better!

Nice, pleasant sendoff issue.

This will only really make sense if you’ve read a lot of Bendis’ work recently. Basically, Armadillo is this guy Bendis puts as a gag villain to get beat up in a lot of his titles. This issue capitalizes on that and adds some depth to him, while Jones brings him back to a lover.

It’s nice, nothing extraordinary but good.

Bendis I’ve been following you since Secret Wars and I can’t thank you enough for all the work you’ve done. I’ll really miss you at Marvel and thank you for all the amazing characters you’ve made and written. Thanks Bendis

21

u/Thunderstarter Mar 28 '18 edited Mar 29 '18

This wasn’t just a send-off for Jessica. It was a send-off for all of his characters. The letter at the end was really sweet: I can’t imagine the impact of seeing your original character become an international icon. You’re just some nerdy dude writing some comics that people seem to like one day, and the next people are raving about the TV adaptation of your character. That has to be surreal.

I’ll miss Bendis at Marvel, but I’m glad to hear that Jessica is coming back in the fall.

12

u/blackbutterfree Mar 28 '18

This is so cute. I loved it. Also, I'm kinda antsy waiting for the new creative team, especially after that sneak peak of a re-designed Krysten Jessica in Carol's 80's costume.

4

u/King_Nomarch Mar 29 '18

Really good send off can't wait for the relaunch and the new creative team to be revealed.

5

u/CashWho Mar 30 '18

Wow, I never realized that Armadillo was Bendis' Kite-Man (Hell Yeah). I liked this issue a lot. I liked that, like Bendis said, it was a case that only Jessica could really solve. I'm a DC reader so Bendis isn't going anywhere for me but it is sad that he won't be writing these characters anymore. (Though that one 2 page spread was pretty annoying)

6

u/webshellkanucklehead Mar 28 '18

I haven’t read the issue, but it’s crazy that this could be Bendis’ last time writing for Jessica.

I feel like Coates wants every issue to be a Storm issue.

6

u/burnerfret Mar 28 '18

Which is ironic since over in X-Men Gold, Guggenheim wants no issues to be Storm issues. Maybe they should switch.

I’m enjoying this a lot. I DO think it’s gonna read much better in trade form, these super long story arcs are gonna work better there, giving a much fuller picture of the sense of context and culture Coates is working in this run

11

u/Ptylerdactyl Groot Mar 27 '18

16

u/TheUltimate3 Mar 28 '18

Honestly, the only thing of note I care about is the fate of Cyclops. He leaves, and as the Young X-Men seem to be blasting off into space for Light knows how long, this was him saying farewell. The problem, to me, is that there isn't really any emotional weight behind it.

Likewise, the resolution for Viv and Viv 2.0 reaches a conclusion without much of a payoff. Viv 2.0 gets wrecked and Viv basically fusion dances with her remains in an effort to A) save her 'sister' and B) become a android again. We all knew it was coming but it still feels...ugh. Why even have this arc?

Now the only confusing part to me is that this issue implies that the Champions added Wasp, Patriot, Falcon, Ironheart and Red Locust. BUT the next issue implies just Ironheart and Wasp.

Which honestly wouldn't surprise me, Marvel needs to let me down one last time, but one would think they would check this before committing to the next storyline.

10

u/FrigidArrow Mar 28 '18

Well, Cyclops has been on for a while and the emotional weight comes from those issues assuming your long time reader.

Yeah, the Viv thing was unnecessary and uneventful. She just went back to being Viv.

I assume that Patriot, Falcon, and Red Locust will be reserve Champions. They’ll explain it in the next arc.

I am glad that Waid called out that the Champions are way off base from their original mission statement.

Took the words right out of my mouth. Still, this arc was a disappointing sendoff for Waid. Let’s hope Zub can clean up.

2

u/burnerfret Mar 29 '18

Champions added Wasp, Patriot, Falcon, Ironheart and Red Locust. BUT the next issue implies just Ironheart and Wasp.

Based on last issue, I thought they were pitching it as more of a Defenders non-team situation -- like, hey, can we call on you, come hang out with us situation more than "here's your communicator, here's the monitor duty schedule."

2

u/TheUltimate3 Mar 29 '18

And I would get that, if the next issue preview didn't say "Wasp and Ironheart officially join the Champions!" and now I'm just remembering Patriot, Locust, and Falcon all didn't receive new Champion designs based off this https://imgur.com/a/EjdFe

EDIT: Unless that silhouette is actually Red Locust in which case, no Patriot or Falcon.

3

u/DarthPinkHippo Apr 02 '18

I hope it's Red Locust! I really want more of her, she seems super cool.

→ More replies (1)

13

u/Dragonick711 Mar 28 '18

Was I supposed to feel something about Cyclops leaving the team? It had no emotional weight to me at all; and neither did whatever you want to call those moments between Cyke and Kamala. They weren't just unnecessary they were unearned like all of the relationships have been in this series, it's all been Waid saying that they're close but never actually showing it.

I hope I'm not the only one that found the fix for the Viv situation creepy. It's basically original Viv possessing Viv 2.0's brain dead body as some way to remember her by, but it's really just wearing her dead sister's body so she's not human anymore. And as many others have said it pretty much makes this whole arc pointless because I doubt this is going to effect anything moving forward.

3

u/burnerfret Mar 29 '18

saying that they're close but never actually showing it.

I feel like this has been a line-wide problem for Marvel for awhile now. There are a lot of people who are suddenly great friends, even though we've never really seen them interact before.

6

u/Dragonick711 Mar 29 '18

Totally, it just seems especially bad for me on this book because Kamala, Miles, and Sam started this team and their friendship has been built up across a few books; but the three of them barely interact. I feel like all the interactions have just been the same pairs that never branch off or intersect.

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '18

I liked this issue actually. Really this, the first couple, and the Worlds Collide issues are the only ones that felt like what the Champions series was meant to be. Kinda wish Cyclops was sticking around though. He was definitely an interesting pick for a team member.

9

u/LucasVerBeek Mar 28 '18

Can the writers just agree to write Cyc with one romantic interest/girl with a thing for him? God it's already confusing with Jean and Bloodstorm and now you throw Kamala in the mix!

I'm excited to see where this story is going to go, because I'm not going to lie it's one of my favorite comics to read at the moment.

They just seemed to friends in this issue? They're team mates and care about each other, didn't see any romantic subtext

So did Viv actually gain anything from this arc? It feels like we just went around in a circle and nothing important happened. At least the last arc developed the Visions' relationship.

Shame Cyclops is leaving, he was my clear favorite among the cast.

3

u/Kurolegacy27 Mar 29 '18

Yea like I’d love to know what the take away was supposed to be for Viv here. There was a definite development for Viv when she was made human by the fact that she had to actually confront and deal with her feelings of loss rather than just easily being able to turn them off and now she’s just back to being able to ignore it and be unemotional. It feels like she lost valuable character development on that move. Worst part is, it’s a comic book, they could have ended it on a best of both worlds note and nobody would have batted an eye since at very least there’d have been a point to this character arc.

5

u/General_Nothing Mar 28 '18

Disappointingly predictable conclusion to the 2 Vivs story.

4

u/sonofaresiii Mar 30 '18

It's not that I'm sad to see Waid go, it's more that I'm sad I'm not sad.

I was really looking forward to what he had for this book, and it never really felt like it quite got there. It was never exactly unenjoyable, it just always felt like it had more potential.

2

u/OjamaKnight Ghost Rider Mar 29 '18

I just realized something. How did Viv escape the Champions, exactly? She was running from them, on foot. And she was right next to them before she ran away.

Cyclops and Ms. Marvel not catching up, I understand. They stopped searching to hang out. But the rest couldn't find her?

u/TalynRahl Thor Mar 28 '18

That was... Mixed. On one hand, the concept of power coming from belief is cool (if unoriginal), but some of the dialog was REALLY poor.

I guess I'll give the new run a chance, but I wasn't blown away by the way this arc played out.

11

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '18

That’s kinda how I’ve felt about this run in general cool concepts, good stories, great art, bad dialogue.

18

u/SerenityFlyer Mar 28 '18

Holy shit, this story arc really nailed its landing. The idea of power coming from belief, that "do you fear me" spread, the final panel with the doctor. Damn. It's not exactly traditional Moon Knight, but it's good stuff.

2

u/pecan_party Mr. Knight Mar 28 '18

super excited to see how this links to damnation.

9

u/SerenityFlyer Mar 28 '18

My guess is it won't. Moon Knight is a pretty small player in Damnation and Bemis is (so far) telling a story that stands alone within the Marvel universe.

7

u/Paulista666 Nova Mar 28 '18

Well, while I somewhat like this arc, can we've MK back to fight against bandits/mafia/stupid villains or something like that? I mean, while I like the fact they are working his mind problems, it can get boring at some point.

7

u/Cedar-redaC Mar 30 '18

Probable the best issue since 189, but overall, not a great arc. The dialogue is mostly poor, and the sad part is that it could be fixed if Max Bemis would just know when to stop. So many times, I felt like a scene was solid and well written, but then a character would throw out some quip that completely broke my immersion in the story.

The ending was rather unsatisfying, and felt rushed. After last issue's battle of philosophy, there were some pretty cool stakes, but those were completely ignored in this issue. The conflict basically boiled down to "my belief in my daughter is better than your belief in Ra, so I win."

I'll probably put Moon Knight on the back burner for a while, probably until it gets a new writer.

10

u/discophant64 Mar 28 '18

I've really not enjoyed Bemis on this. That Power of Crazy line was so stupid and bad. I'll get it one more time but if it's the same I think I'll pass until they switch writers again.

10

u/blackpanthor Mar 28 '18

the dialogue is clunky and pretentious, there’s too many threads going at once, Bemis refuses to handle mental illness professionally and reverts to cliches, and moon knight feels like he’s being written like a completely new character.

Bushman didn’t need to be in this arc. he served zero purpose and should’ve gotten his own return story.

Bemis promising that Sun King would be Moon Knights new greatest villain was bullshit from the start. there’s no rivalry between the two and he got beat easily by Moon Knight shouting that his power is he’s crazy. give me a fucking break.

4

u/discophant64 Mar 29 '18

The point you make about mental illness is the thing that bothers me the most about this book. It's so childish and stupid and regressive.

5

u/blackpanthor Mar 29 '18

yeah, i agree. it’s even more disappointing after how well the last series treated the subject.

4

u/MrKhonshu Mar 28 '18

Can't even lie I'm really mixed on this run of MK. While I get a few laughs out of the book that "power of crazy" shit had me dying lol it was stupid as hell and I kinda enjoyed it but Bemis lied cause Sun King ain't shit so I guess only Charles Soule has successfully created a new villain in Muse that I just can't wait to see appear in more books.

13

u/oliviathecf Mar 28 '18

I've given this book too many fair chances but "We have the power of crazy" is just really bad. On so many levels.

So this is the straw that broke the camel's back and I'm actually unsubscribing from a Moon Knight book.

11

u/markrager Mar 28 '18

That one line shattered the whole story for me.

Ok, this series is great. I hope it's selling well, it deserves it. The world-building is top-notch, fully realizing the potential of the Old Man universe. It's like Cormac McCarthy meets Kill Bill, and I love it.

(And oh my god, finally, a Hawkeye-Thunderbolts reunion, after all these years!)

15

u/rakuko Mar 28 '18

its a treat to read this series. immaculate illustrations and great further world building

12

u/blackbutterfree Mar 28 '18

Silk was a welcome guest-star. But I am so over this Chameleon arc. Can we just get back to Wade and Peter being besties?

5

u/SirKnightCourtJester Mar 29 '18

Yeah, this book has always been in a really weird place IMO. Story arcs are either too long, too weird, or broken up. Spider-Man turning into a murderer especially was too much for me. I just want some good buddy team action like in the first arc.

8

u/blackbutterfree Mar 29 '18

Actually, Spidey going full on "I need to kill Itsy-Bitsy" was super sexy. But I just need them to return to the "Weasel being used by Mephisto to compromise Wade's soul, and teasing Peter with the revelation of One More Day" plot. ASAP.

3

u/DriedSocks Mar 30 '18

Yeah, as soon as Joe Kelly and Ed McGuinness left the book, I dropped it. I’ll probably buy the trades with their issues compiled. I dipped back in for Old Man Deadpool and Old Man Spidey but this Chameleon thing has me really uninvested.

What is the up with the Parkers and doing Deals with the Devil? How is it that Kaine is the one that is free from that?

6

Honestly hoping Ben is smarter than that and has something planned.

4

u/sonofaresiii Mar 30 '18

I'd put money on it. No way does Ben sink bank from his redemption resolve so fast.

5

u/Flyingwheelbarrow Mar 30 '18

Becuase Kaine suffered more and lost that naive stupidity a long time ago. Ben still is just Peter Parker with issues. I love his struggle but Kaine is just more nuanced.

11

Ugh, man this arc is dragging.

It’s too damn slow.

Bendis makes an amazing sendoff to Jessica in a Purple Man arc, but this just is disappointing.

13

u/HughyHugh Silk Mar 28 '18

i find it weird that Toni Ho, someone who not only knows Tony Stark as well as being easily top 30 smartest people in the world, would be confused about an AI but ok

10

u/s7sost Mar 29 '18

Toni Ho was written so out of character it's unbelievable. While it's cool that she took part of the whole Armor Squad thing, she also swore off wearing the Iron Patriot suit and devote herself to non-lethal technology. But I guess that doesn't matter to Bendis since she's out of character enough to give her another suit and pretend nothing happened.

Also the reason why this is dragging the way it does is because they decided to cram an arc worth of content from Infamous Iron Man, so it drags for two. I'd prefer they just did like three more issues of Infamous on its own (since the current story has definitely little to do with the search of Tony Stark) and leave Riri to pursue Stark with her peers.

3

u/Kurolegacy27 Mar 29 '18

Honestly, for Toni Ho, while it does seem out of character for her to have a new armor after USAvengers, if this is set after Avengers No Surrender, it would be even more of her not to have an armor for emergencies.

I also agree about the Infamous Iron Man B plot going on. It has literally nothing to do with the arc story yet they keep slowing it down to have that play out.

3

u/s7sost Mar 29 '18

Bendis infamously writes out of continuity, so I'm doubting that's the case. It also looked like they purposely avoided using the original Iron Patriot model because it looks a lot like Iron Man's in a different color scheme.

3

u/HughyHugh Silk Mar 30 '18

Toni Ho swearing off suits then instantly making one is literally the transition from IM3 to AoU

Aikku is gonna get tight as hell lmao

28

If nothing else, Stuff will at least happen

12

u/tehawesomedragon Loki Mar 28 '18

I feel like I'll actually care about what happens in an Iron Man book for the first time in years.

3

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '18

Again, cause good or bad, something will actually happen instead of just being padding

8

u/werd713 Mar 28 '18

Yeah it seems like Bendis has really abandoned the whole "things happening" element of superhero comics in the last couple years

13

u/arbitrarygenius Mar 28 '18

Well, I clearly liked it more than everyone else. Agree Doom should have wiped floor with Wrecking Crew but other than that. I mean it's not perfect and there's definitely pacing issues from Bendis leaving (I imagine).

But I thought it was a pretty fun read.

Don't entirely trust end reveal until we've heard from both parties involved, but it's a good(ish) cliffhanger and would not at all be sorry for it to be true.

9

u/HDI-X13 Spider-Man Mar 28 '18

I do think this was the best issue of the arc so far. But it’s part six. This stuff should’ve been happening several issues ago.

4

u/arbitrarygenius Mar 29 '18

For sure, but I came and looked at comments and all I could think was "hrrm, do I even want to admit I liked it", and then realised that maybe other people checking in might want to see that at least someone did!

The pacing of these issues hasn't been good and I'd love to spend more time with the chars we now have in play, but all I really want is for it to end well.

4

u/TalynRahl Thor Mar 28 '18

That was actually a pretty solid issue.

We find out a bit more about where Tony has gone, and it sounds rather interesting, hope we find out more!

Doctor Doom's section was a bit better. Glad to see that even when he's down, Doom isn't out. Can't wait to see him get some vengeance!

And lastly, it seems Riri has some allies! Am I the only one that kinda wants an Armor Squad comic? They're like power rangers, but marginally less campy.

4

u/MadEorlanas Mar 29 '18

This feels like they REALLY want Tony to return during the 600th issue, but they could have cut 2 or three issues from this arc no problem.

2

u/TheRazorSlash Mar 30 '18

I jumped on this book because I was actually kind of interested in what happened to Tony Stark when he went missing, but damn is this a slog to get through. They're stretching it out so much and I just don't care anymore.

8

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '18

I'm so confused as to where this is going

5

u/burnerfret Mar 28 '18

Does this arc end here? I love the FF so I was interested, but it feels like it's been going on forever and just spinning its wheels.

7

u/OjamaKnight Ghost Rider Mar 28 '18

That's my main problem with many Moon Girl stories, despite this book being one of my currently-running favorites. Stories feel like they're being stretched out to fit a trade.

4

u/burnerfret Mar 28 '18

Yeah, it feels like Luna kind of succeeds in earning people's affections (or mine, at least) almost despite her stories, just through her personality. Her solo title has nice moments and humor, but the plotting can be slow, and a little obvious in a way that makes Luna look bad, if that makes sense -- like, the smartest person in the world should be able to tell where this is going.

And whenever she shows up in a team book like Secret Warriors or IvX, I just want to scream at the adults from bringing along a child. At least make her use a Braniac style force field belt or something.

General Discussion
Infinity War is a month away! What do you want to see most - and what do you not want to see?

31

u/Fiti99 Mar 27 '18

Want to see: Spider-Man

Do not want too see: "No shit Sherlock"

6

I remember when Cumberbatch was announced for Doc Strange, and every post on here was everyone wanting to see that line. 😐

Don't want to see: Everybody dies brutally.

8

I really don’t want to see Captain America die, but I have a feeling that it’s going to happen.

5

u/[deleted] Mar 27 '18

I guess the one thing I would kill to see on Infinity War would be Thanos creating Terraxia just to see how it would mess with people and What I wouldnt want to see is the dumb THANOS Gems Theory coming true in any way

3

u/blackbutterfree Mar 28 '18

Thanos creating Terraxia

Screw Infinity War, I wanna see her come back anywhere. She seemed like such an interesting idea for a character. With the constant resurrections, I'm shocked she's never come back.

Want to see: Richard Rider set up. Thanos invading Xandar for Power Stone would be great way to have Richard Rider become last Nova.

Don't Want to see: a quick lame death to show how powerful Thanos is. We've come to love these characters, if they're dying give them a good one.

4

u/burnerfret Mar 28 '18

To be clear -- I think there's a 99.9% chance this won't happen.

But a nod to the Fox properties, either the X-Men, FF or both, would be the absolute best.

They said Wakanda is going to be really important going forward, and since they were able to say that with conviction even though the movie was already in the can by that time, I'm optimistic.

I also don't think there is any way they'd kill M'Baku - they may not have known how popular he would be, but the way they build that character doesn't point to a random death in a non-BP movie.
