I think for me, it’s a kiddo I had that was knowledgeable on playing multiple instruments. Only 8 years old & could play the drums, guitar, violin, piano, & saxophone effortlessly.

There’s that general thought some people have that “every autistic person has some type of special talent”, although this likely isn’t true; I don’t think it’s some insaneee stretch to say. The talent I’ve seen some of my kiddos have & even things I’ve heard from others & seen on the internet is crazy.

Just saw this video on Twitter of this 6 year old autistic kid that could replicate different fonts & was writing in each one on a whiteboard…it’s crazy.

the company i work for was really strict about confidentiality and respecting autonomy (rightfully so), and idk if this is the norm everywhere but if we were in public we were never allowed to say we were in session or “working” with the kid we were with if ever approached. there were soooo many times i’d be out at museums or grocery stores with a family and trail off somewhere with the kid and someone will say “omg wow they look just like you!” and i roll with it and pretend im their mom or older sister lmfao, mind you i usually look nothing like the kids i work with
