Who Took the Enhanced ACT Today (US Digital)? Any Notable Differences?

Hi, I'm posting this thread to gather information from any users who took the debut of the Enhanced ACT today. If you took a Digital exam in the U.S., that means you! Were there any notable differences between this exam and the "Legacy" version of the ACT? I'm sure everyone here would love to know!

Official April 5/6, 2025 ACT US Test Discussion

Feel free to use this space as a place to discuss all iterations of the February test, potential curves, or as an excuse to just blow off steam. You can use this space for Saturday OR Sunday for US testers

Discussions of the test are allowed by r/ACT 's rules, but participating in such discussion may violate the terms to which you agreed when you registered for the ACT.

Please remember that cheating is strictly against r/ACT 's rules, and any attempts to solicit or offer cheating help will be met with permanent bans.

The hope is that scores will start to get released around February 18th, though it could take a couple of weeks longer depending on your region and the specific format of the test you took.

In an attempt to make this community even more awesome and helpful, please consider filling out this VERY short survey about the test you took: https://forms.gle/uqujBDHAwYaSNo7U9

**This is also the first official administration of the new/Enhanced version of the test, which was only offered to digital test takers. We are all very eager and curious to hear about how it went and what was good/bad about it. Please try to specify which version of the test you're talking about to avoid confusion**

The next test will be June 14th and registration is already open.

In any case, congratulations on getting through the exam. You survived!

I studied high school in England where I was predicted A* A* A, I got a 36 in my act, I applied for environmental science, (my alevels were math bio and chemistry) I had a published research paper on secondary succession, I did community service in a hospital as well as being part of the ccf, I am my schools tennis captain and have been u beaten for 4 years. Best school I got into was NYU.

I hold a Chinese passport so that may also play a role.

Just finished the April ACT

That was genuinely so bad for me, I’ve never done so bad. Even during the reading I couldn’t focus. I remember my last act I did bad and was left with 10 questions left when we were given the 5 min mark. However during this one, I had plenty of over 10 questions left. In the end I just guessed on them. I think timing is one of my biggest issues and I might have some underlying problems. Should I actually try to get accommodations?

How to get a 36 from a 33

I took the ACT in school in March. I just retook it today but I didn’t study so I am taking it once again in june. In march i got 34 math 35 science 33 english and 29 reading. What should I do to get a better score? I feel like I could get a higher score it’s just the time limit.

32 on ACT with a week of studying is a 36 possible with a month of studying?

I got my scores from my school mandated February test about a week ago. My exact scores were ,34 Math, 26 Science ,31 English, 35 Reading. Someone told me a while ago that the jump from a 32 to 36 is massive so just wondering if a month is enough time to get everything ready. I also may not focus as hard on getting a 36 on science because I've read the school I want to apply to is science optional (im sure submitting a good science score does help though). Thanks in advance.

Should I cancel my score?

I just finished the april 5th test and did terrible. Just as the reading section started, the school I was at got hit with a massive storm, from a tornado nearby. The power went out, water seaping through the windows, so I couldn’t focus at all and definitely sold reading. I think i did good on english and math so my superscore most likely went up but my composite is in shambles, so wondering if i should cancel my score or ask act for a retest because of the distractions.

Is this a decent score?

I took my schools march ACT and got these scores. I'm currently a sophomore, and this was my second time taking it. Could it be possible to get to a 30 by my senior year?

What the hell was the 2nd to last science question. Atmospheric pressure thing

I felt the English was really easy, easier than usual. Math was great 1-45 but 50+ was crazy hard and unfamiliar. The reading was super easy except 2 question on the split passage one. And science was cake besides this question.

H19 curve? what even are curves

I keep seeing people talking about a curve, do some tests allow more incorrect questions than others for the same score? I had h19 form, math english reading weren't too bad but science was lowkey hard lol

Bombed my last ACT test

Today was my last chance as a senior to raise my math score to at least a 22 and I completely bombed it. I didn't really need to take it again since got a scholarship to my local community college, but I wanted to get a decent score to prove my worth (and a college-readiness seal on my diploma).

Everyone tells me that I'm a smart kid due to having all A's and learning topics fast, but now I feel I let everyone down. I tried 4 times to raise it, but no, it wouldn't go past a 21. feel so hopeless since I studied everyday for today's test, but the digital math section was extremely different than the practice tests I took. I don't know what to do at this point.

Can you make separate discussions for US Computer testers and US Paper testers? Those are two different tests? Thanks!

Study tips

As you can tell by the title I need studying tips for the act and I need to cover all subjects. I’m an adult that has been out of school for years and basically need to relearn everything. If there are any resources that you would recommend that can help me relearn the materials that would be covered in the act, I would gladly appreciate it.

If your ACT test ticket has writing but it isnt shaded in, does that mean your test has writing?

I'm taking the test tomorrow and am unsure if I signed up for writing or no writing.

Redo Perfect Section?

I scored a 36 on my reading (first attempt, yay!), and I'm wondering if I should do the section again. My no. 1 is UPenn and I heard u have to submit all ur act scores. Would it look bad if I didn't answer any questions? Should I do it anyway? Thanks!

That was hard (us paper)

I just really hoped I improved from my 28 in English. Math was always a long shot to improve but still maybe the curve is nice lol. English was tricky and not at the same time??? At least science was easy and thankfully my reading superscore is already fine lol.

See u guys in June!
