BICYCLE DAY-April 12 psychedelic holiday in Old Town

Join us for Bicycle Day and in celebrating the success of increased psilocybin access🍄Once signed, New Mexico will become the 3rd state to create a psilocybin program. The Albuquerque community is invited to enjoy food, spirits and speakers will include— Leonard Pickard Psychedelic Regulations and LSD prisoner of War on Dr*gs; Dr. Larry Leeman psychedelic researcher at UNMH; Chris Peskuski U.S. Marine Corps veteran and NM Ambassador for Heroic Hearts Project; Vanessa Cruz Death Doula and former Fireside Project supervisor; Cheves Fleming mycologist and holder of a psilocybin prescription; Zain Dixon, community organizer; Hanifa Nayo Washington, healing justice practitioner; Morgaine Witriol founder of NATIVE ROOTS, among many others.

Hosted by Decriminalize Psychedelics New Mexico (DPNM) which advocates for unregulated, personal access to psilocybin containing mushrooms. Speakers will discuss mass incarceration, harm reduction and public education of psychedelic medicines. Governor Lujan Grisham is expected to sign SB 219 Psilocybin Medical Act into law.

SB 219 provides funding and rule-making authority for the New Mexico Department of Health to set up a program that would set standards and authorize growers, and oversee provision of medical services. The bill allows for specific conditions including PTSD, treatment resistant depression, substance abuse disorder and end-of-life care.

Why is the Bicycle Day event not on Bicycle Day?

Because it conflicts with too many other events, like Easter.

Is the event free? I've always wanted to hear Leonard Pickard speak, this is so cool!

I'm for legalizing of certain psychadelics. But just as an aside, at first glance, this Pickard guy gives me mad cult leader vibes. Lol. Maybe it's the pullover hoodie.

You should listen to him sometime. Totally down to earth and a very nice man. He's not looking for any followers.
