Everyone is going on about how satisfying this is, meanwhile my nerves are sparking everytime cause it looks like the truck stops on the last second before hitting them. Like bro give him and us a few feet at least lol

I've operated track-hoes before and been around them most of my life and have never seen anyone dig a ditch like that. That was beautiful!!

Yea its amazing what a difference the "right" tool for the job will do.... I live in a rural area but the parish (same as county) is definitely one of the wealthier parishes in the state and I always see them cleaning and digging ditches with a regular excavator... I wonder how much faster it would be with this.

Why are they digging a trench? For what? Rain water? I really do t know. Thx! ๐๐ป

Yeah drainage/water retention, lots of reasons. An interesting side effect of this is that taller grasses will grow on either side of the ditch and the water at the bottom of the ditch will be retained longer therefore the vegetation and insect life on that side of the road will grow very lush

Theyโre man made? :(

Drainage ditches? Yes they are man made, and sometimes they have to put tubes under the road in order to equalize the water on both sides. It can be quite an ordeal to maintain

Nice, but I've always wondered what those trenches are for ?

I would assume it's safe to say "Water". Reasoning: less water on road equal safer road

If you guys really like this stuff, go watch Andrew Camarata build one of these buckets and use it. https://youtu.be/LVBdCeK3zl0?si=vKHwxcVz4SVdHId6

Why does the dump keep pulling forward a little bit each time before pulling back?

Truck is in the way of the boom for the way it's doing it's job. Also, despite the camera angle, guy in the digger likely can't see either

Interesting there are no municipal utilities within that easement. Granted the settings looks like itโs across the pond, still interesting.

Appreciating the in sync neatness as the trailer then moves back to allow any spillovers to be gathered and tidied from the previous scoop.
