Announcement Regarding Political Content

Hello everyone,

With the recent changes in administration, we've noticed an uptick in political discussions here on AmazonFC. We understand that political decisions can have an impact on our workplace, policies, and even the day-to-day operations at our fulfillment centers. It’s only natural that these topics come up as we share our experiences. However, to keep our community focused and respectful, please read and follow these guidelines:

What’s Allowed

  • On-Topic Political Discussions: It’s fine to talk about how political decisions (e.g., changes in labor laws, workplace safety regulations, or new policies) are affecting our work at Amazon. For instance, if a new regulation is influencing scheduling or safety protocols at your center, feel free to share your observations or ask questions.
  • Constructive Sharing: Posts that share personal experiences, factual information, and thoughtful analysis related to Amazon and our work environment are welcome.

What’s Not Allowed

  • Labeling Sides as “Right” or “Wrong”: We do not allow posts that declare one political side as right and the other as wrong. Our focus is on sharing experiences and factual impacts on Amazon, not on engaging in partisan debates.
  • Trolling or Inciting Debates: Any post or comment that appears intended to troll, derail discussions, or provoke debates unrelated to Amazon’s operations will be removed with further offenses being punished.
  • Violation of General Rules: Please remember that all other of our subreddit rules still apply, including:
    1. Submission Guidelines: Ensure your post follows our formatting and content rules.
    2. Self-Promotional Advertising or Soliciting: No promotions or solicitations.
    3. Unhelpful or Disrespectful Content: Keep your contributions constructive and polite.
    4. Personal Attacks or Abusive Language: Avoid any form of personal targeting or abusive speech.
    5. Safety and Confidentiality: Do not disclose any confidential or sensitive work-related information.
    6. Lawbreaking Information: Sharing or seeking information that breaks the law is strictly prohibited.
    7. Poor Reddiquette: Uphold the standards of respectful and thoughtful discussion as expected across Reddit.

We welcome discussions about how political changes are influencing our work environment at Amazon, but we ask that you keep these conversations civil, non-partisan, on-topic, and respectful. If you have any additional questions please feel free to use Mod Mail and we will be happy to assist further.

Question Has anyone had their warehouse close?

Upvotes

What were the warning signs? Did the managers give you guys notice? My warehouse has been really slow the past couple of weeks and I'm afraid it might close down.

Fulfillment Center Corporate operations manager, AMA

I use this sub to help me get a view of what's going on at the FCs anecdotally, it's helped me adjust some of the decision making at the corporate level.

AMA if you have any questions about why things are the way they are 🤷‍♂️

Rant TOM keep an eye out

So twice this morning (4/5 around 0700) as I was doing moves they TDR'd AFTER I'd already connected. Back to back moves. I don't know why the system allows the Ops team to TDR while there is an active and accepted move, but it's been happening more and more often. I raised hell over it, but as anyone on TOM knows, doing ANYTHING on a red-light can cause a termination. Don't let the untrained fuck your life over

Question Has anyone worked at a delivery AND a fresh warehouse?

Upvotes

I wanna know if working at fresh is lighter work on the body. What’s heaviest thing at fresh? I’m trying to transfer to fresh and wanna know what to expect. I know any warehouse work is going to be hard on the body just wanna know if it’s easier.

Question Final written warning/appeal

Post image
8 Upvotes

Hello, so last night I received me final written warning for headphones and today I got pulled into the HR office to discuss it. Luckily, I’m a blue badge and I’m eligible for appeal. In the statement I said “I forgot I had them in” … and I already told HR and my AM the truth so can I still appeal? If so, what should I say in my appeal letter?

Rant Working at JFK8 is like being in a reality show you didn’t sign up for

JFK8 is wild, y’all. Half the time I’m scanning packages, the other half I’m dodging workplace drama like it’s a damn obstacle course.

Let me break it down:

  1. The power trips are real. Some of these PA’s and AMs act like they’re running the Pentagon. Like, chill—I'm trying to hit rate, not launch missiles. You say one thing sideways and suddenly you’re "under investigation" for “insubordination.”

  2. The favoritism is loud. If you're cool with a manager, you can literally sit on a box and vibe. But if you're not in the inner circle? They breathing down your neck if you tie your shoe too long.

  3. People snitch for fun. There’s always that one person trying to be Teacher’s Pet, writing you up over nonsense like “time off task” when you were in the bathroom. Like, mind your bladder.

  4. Romance, fights, and full-on soap opera episodes. JFK8 is like Love & Logistics. People be hooking up on breaks, then arguing in the aisles 3 days later. I’ve seen a girl throw a whole water bottle at her ex in front of an AM—and somehow he still kept his job??

  5. HR? More like MIA. File a complaint and they’ll “look into it” for 6 months, then tell you it's resolved because the manager “promised” they’d be nice now.

  6. Union drama? Oh yeah, we had that. Some folks were all in, others acting like joining a union was selling your soul. Managers got real weird about it. Suddenly they were bringing donuts and pretending to care. Suspicious.

At the end of the day, it pays the bills, but you need tough skin, good shoes, and a mental “Do Not Disturb” sign.

Anyone else at JFK8? What drama have y’all seen? Let’s swap stories.

Question So with the tariffs, does that mean a lot less work in the coming months, and possibly layoffs?

Cause let's all be honest here, most of Amazon's imventory come from outside of the USA. Their website is literally overrun with Chinese/Asian sellers.

So if these tariffs come into effect what are the chances that things start to get really really slow the next few months/year?

Also because of that, would that mean many of us are gling to start getting let go because of the lack of inventory?

I'm not an economist or business man but my brain tells me yes. What do yall think?

Fulfillment Center Videotaping

Hey guys just wanted to put this out here. If you’re going to video tape altercations, make sure you do so very discreetly, and most importantly only share the video with people you can trust that won’t share it with others, or just don’t share it at all. LP will pull tape from the cameras and you’ll get fired.

Rant Jeff Bezos' $500 million mega-yacht. Make sure to work harder so he can buy a second one.

Jeff Bezos's superyacht, Koru, is the world's largest sailing yacht, built by Oceanco, and is 410 feet long, costing approximately $500 million. It features a classic sailing yacht design with a navy-blue hull, three masts, and a wooden figurehead, and is accompanied by a 250-foot support vessel named Abeona.

Question Standup music

Our area manager plays christian worship music at standup everyday. Is this not a violation of an ethics policy? There’s 4000+ recognized religions and a large group of people that are non-theistic. Nobody should be forced to listen to, what is essentially, a Christian sermon at work. By all means, listen to in your car or the privacy of your home. But at work? It seems unhinged and completely against what Amazon “markets” themselves as.
