What does the calcium carbonate do right before applying the oil?

He didn't seem to be polishing in the video with it but there was a cut in the video so maybe there is a longer process? 2 u/fooz_the_face Jan 09 '23 Yeah, we call it "rubbing out" - that's why oil is next; it's a lube for the abrasive.
