Pete was kinda my favorite from the tally ho project. They were all pretty great, but the chemistry between Pete and Leo before whatever happened was mint.
As far as I understand, there was no disagreement between Pete and Leo.
I believe Pete had always planned to leave after the bulk of the framing and hull work was finished on the boat to go back to working on his own business full time.
Huh. Yeah, that’s a couple people that are seeing things differently than I did. Maybe I wasn’t paying attention or it wasn’t explicitly stated or something. I recall Leo suggesting that Pete would be making cameo appearances that didn’t make the cut or whatever for the last 3(?) years. They seemed somewhat awkward in the goodbye episode, but that was always part of Pete’s charm for me.
Totally agree, and Pete's life story ("no feet Pete") is amazing. I hadn't heard that anything had happened between him and Leo and just assumed that he had to get on with his life.
Yeah, I didn’t really get a satisfactory explanation in anything I’ve seen about why he left. It just seemed like Leo was kinda avoiding the subject. I’ll have to check out no feet Pete.
There was an episode where he got to share his story. As a lad he used to ride the freight trains around America. He had an accident doing this and lost both his feet. He gets around on artificial legs now. The guy's a legend.
