Technique/Method [Discussion] What helps you with sticking to drawing daily

I am a student studying Ux design and due to being busy with assignments and exams and clubs I have lost the habbit of drawing everyday. I would like to get back to that habbit. Advice needed.

Reasons I draw every day, even if just doodles in a sketchbook 1) I love drawing and painting 2) Unlike reading, which I also love to do, and doom scrolling, every time I draw I have something to show for it. I have a sketchbook with me everywhere I go. Often just a 4"x4" that fits in a pocket. I don't always use it, but instead of whipping out my phone I'll whip out the sketchbook. I will draw the band playing while sitting at a local bar.

Thanks, having a sketchbook with me all the time with me is such a good tip

Take the pressure off drawing - just telling yourself a simple doodle is enough. Sometimes you’ll find yourself going beyond that, but it’s important you actually start putting pencil on paper.

I second this. I even started a simple "doodle a day" and use it like a visual diary

Yes, I actually do this in my journal. The grid calendar is filled with doodles about my day.

Having a ready setup helps, so that I don't have to prepare the tools or the easel every single day.

Planning the drawing a day before helps me. It makes thing less overwhelming.
