Question Removing marker from paint

I think this is a good place to post . My buddy where he works the kids decided to have a fun thing for his birthday and write on his truck. Although it was a nice and fun gesture. The other teacher tried to double check that it would come off the paint.

But he didn’t see it for a couple hours after he got off work. And the next day when he tried to wash the truck. He got maybe 60% off the stuff off, but can’t get the rest. Any ideas how he could try to get it off? Before he just gets it repainted. Yes the other teacher did offer to pay to paint the truck. But my friend would like to try to get off first .

Don’t follow my advice immediately, i’m a total beginner, but have you tried using isopropyl alcohol? That can help a lot, otherwise this might be a polishing job… getting it repainted seems like a waste when polishing is much cheaper.

Yeah tomorrow he’s gonna try isopropyl alcohol. We tried a little spot in the corner with hand sanitizer and it made some marker a little lighter but not fully come off. He’s gonna try all his options first. And luckily the teacher who did it with the kids offered to pay for the job if needed. But my buddy wants to wait first
