After my first topic : https://www.reddit.com/r/AutoDetailing/s/nhnqEDmrPx

I did what i could with what i got for my european Buick Regal 😂

I did a wash, multiples passes with old clay bar, one pass with the magic sponge, one passe with medium pad and headlight restorer finally a pass with the same restorer with a fine pad.

It’s far from mirror finish but also far from concrete finish. I need a better finish compound and then time to order some 5€ spray ceramic on Aliexpress 😂

Question 84 corvette sat for 3 years and has stuck on dirt / grime. Any recommendations to get it off are greatly appreciated!!

What would y’all do to remove all this dirt and grime? Normal soap and water isn’t doing it. I need recommendations from the professionals lmao. 84 corvette that was originally red but has been painted black and then sat for almost 3 years and now I have it back on the road but all the dirt and grime wont come off with just soap and water and elbow grease lol. Some of it did but there’s a lot still stuck on the paint. I don’t need it perfect but would like for it to look decent. So I’m asking if y’all have any thing that has worked great for y’all to knock off that stuck on dirt. Any input is greatly appreciated!!!!

Question Adhesive gunk removal advice

Post image

Hey there I used flex seal tape to hold my bumper on. I finally repaired it after months. But now there is a ridiculous amount of gunk left on there. I have ever tried denatured alcohol, googone, citrus cleaner, WD-40, 404, adhesive removal. Nothing seems to work. Is there anything that will REALLY break down so I can scrub it off.

Question How To Remove Film

It’s cracked and looks bad. I tried a tiny section and it just broke apart when trying to remove. Will the color be different under the film? Maybe I just leave it on. I’ve had the car 13 years and it was on there when I got it. 2009 G37.

Tool Discussion Micro fiber recommendations for handwashing exterior

My towels are in need of a refresh. I currently use a combination of Rag companies mf hand mitts and towels. I like the mitts but buying 6 at a time is pricey. Looking for more towels. There is a sweet spot the grey ones (to plush and don’t hold a square sharp while washing) and the blue ones the don’t quite have enough plush.

Suggestions?

Question Tried to remove paint transfer with WD-40 + magic eraser, what shall I do next?

Before and after attached

Should I try acetone or some sort of compound, or just scrub harder with the magic eraser (was scared of doing that) + WD-40, or let a professional handle it? It doesn't need to look perfect, just less visible

Used a clay mitt and rinsed the area after but haven't waxed it since I assumed it'll make it harder to remove the rest of the paint

Product Discussion Expired Westley's Bleche-Wite

Ended up with an unopened bottle of Westley's Blecche-Wite with the date 6/18/98. Not expecting it to work anymore, but will it cause any damage to my tires if I give it a go?

Question I just got a new windshield. Why is the rain not coming off of it?

Post image
Upvotes

For context, I’ve been driving this car for 10+ years. The original windshield was pitted from sap (before I owned the car) and had a chip in my line of sight so I decided to get it replaced. I’m driving around in the rain today (very regular for my area) and it’s almost as if the rain isn’t coming off the windshield? I have my wipers as high as they go but I can still barely see. Even when it’s pouring I’ve never ever had to put my wipers up this high. Is there a film on the new glass? What can I do to fix this?

Product Discussion Koch Chemie Top Star vs Pol Star

Upvotes

I’m looking for an interior detailer/cleaner that I will use during regular maintenance wash. I need a single step product that can be used on leather, plastic trims and general analog buttons. (ie. on everything safely besides displays)

I also have GS which I only use for wheels and wheel wells at 10:1 dilution. So I don’t need a powerful APC for interior cleaning. For that purpose I can mix GS around 30:1 dilution if it is necessary which I have never done.

Top Star seems to be a last step product at least in advertisements and Pol Star is for regular cleaning of fabric surfaces. Which one can I use for general interior cleaning?

Question Sardine Oil dropped down gear selector.

Long story short, my friends decided it was a great idea to eat sardines in my car, and ended up getting oil all down and in my gear selector of my third gen Honda crv. What would be the best course of action to get that smell out or is it just a waiting game? Thanks’

How do you dispense soap/shampoo from a 5L container? Obsessed Garage sold me a dispensing tap for Touch-Less but I’m not sure what to do about Koch Chemie other than decant it into a smaller bottle.

Question Removing marker from paint

Post image
1 Upvotes

I think this is a good place to post . My buddy where he works the kids decided to have a fun thing for his birthday and write on his truck. Although it was a nice and fun gesture. The other teacher tried to double check that it would come off the paint.

But he didn’t see it for a couple hours after he got off work. And the next day when he tried to wash the truck. He got maybe 60% off the stuff off, but can’t get the rest. Any ideas how he could try to get it off? Before he just gets it repainted. Yes the other teacher did offer to pay to paint the truck. But my friend would like to try to get off first .

Question How to clean 2025 Toyota Camry XLE Cloth interior

I just bought a toyota camry brand new with leather seats, but almost like microfiber cloth on the dash and part of the door. If you look it up you know what i am talking about. I would like recommendation on what products would be used for two things.

  1. regular cleaning product and process to keep the cloth in the best shape

  2. a good spot cleaner incase of any surprises like spill or fresh stain.

  3. Also, i can't find it, but as a plus if any of you know of any protective covers made for the cloth that would be great, i couldn't find any.

Sorry my title sucks but bought a work car and on the rear tailgate, these scratches are there but there’s no dent so I don’t know how this occurred. What’s my best option to remove as much as possible? Wet sand? Polish?
