I downloaded the mod that tells you there's an encounter in camp for my second run.
Turns out I missed out on tons of content. My first playthrough was a breeze (I had a ton of experience in act 1 from ea) I barely long rested at all, especially as I was playing a bard so I had song of rest...
My romance never went further than the one night, I never saw Orin in camp, I missed out on tons of intercharactar dialogue...the list goes on.
Playing it a second time and long resting like 20 times in a row to see each scene...I literally used more long rests before finishing act 1 than I did in my entire first playthrough...that mod is necessary...
I had 3 short rests which helps with some class configurations (druids/warlocks) but really helped with my main team (Lae'zel, Karlach, Astarion). I was main bard with some paladin but mostly used spells for utility and smiting. I also proactively use limited resources as long as I have a few in reserve so I use scrolls, potions etc readily.
Also familiarity helps. I played early access from release so the first area + underdark carried 0 secrets and I have played D&D for years and I'm a long time RPG and strategy gamer, resource management is easy for me.
I since played a full caster team and it did long rest a little more but still nowhere near as often as it turns out I needed to be to see all the scenes.
