Meme I love this game so much

Gyrm was whooping our asses because of a skill issue so after like 6 tries we just sat on the stairs above him and threw the heaviest things we could at him. I know he's an unfeeling npc comprised exclusively of code but I'd like to imagine he was pissed off by getting killed by some leather armor

What is Withers saving up for? Spoiler

I never understood why Withers requires money for his support, is there any Lore to justify this?

I always thought it would be better if his payment method was soul coins, then we would have to prioritise buffing Karlach or restrictions.

Is there 1 NPC that you make a point of talking to every play-through?

We're talking optional NPCs ... not main story arc, and technically no reason to interact with them at all.

For me its Commander Lightfeather. Every time I mentally snap to attention and do a monty-python-esque salute.

Lost Honour #2 in one of the dumbest ways possible.

Upvotes

Honour Mode attempt #1: died at level 3 because I didn’t realize encounters had been changed from Tactician. Surprise, there’s a second adult Owlbear!

Honour Mode attempt #2: died at level 5. Zhentarim basement. Refused to execute Rugar for his thievery, Zarys nuked my party with explosives from above, downing 3 out of 4 characters before I could act. Somehow turned it around and survived by abusing line of sight and forcing enemies to dash a bunch, then divide and conquer. Then while exploring the rest of the cave, forgot to unchain my sleight of hand (disarm) character from the party, failed a disarm on a trap on a bridge. Entire party had followed onto the bridge. Trap explodes, bridge goes boom, party falls to their deaths. Womp womp.

Honour Mode attempt #3: commenced. My wife likes to design my characters so I’m writing this as she is customizing my guardian.

Act 3 and Halsin is suddenly really into…everyone?

Got to act 3 and suddenly halsin is creepin on me shadowheart and astarion when before he was barely around and strictly business? Idk it feels out of character for him, and out of character for the others to be into it? And he also confessed his love for me when all I did was help him in act 2. Anyone else kinda turned off by this or was I leading him on accidentally?

I didn't even want to romance anyone my first playthrough becuase i was just so enamored with this game and wanted to focus solely on gameplay and the story.

But APPARENTLY, Gale is like STUPID easy to romance. I didn't even have to do anything. He just started talking about our "bond" and "wanting me" the second act 2 started. Even though i have never given this man any indication that I'm interested.

But then I was like "Okay, I guess I'll romance him why not?" And now I actually kind of like him. I've never been a fan of Gale until this 😭

Guess I have a boyfriend now

Help Tips on not railroading a new player?

Hello, I recently got my brother to play BG3 for the first time since it came out. The problem? I have played countless playthroughs. Know probably 99% of everything in the 1st act. I’ve caught myself saying “talk to this person” or “go here” a lot and I know it’s not good. I have been trying to stay as quiet as possible, especially through dialogue which has now led to Astartion and Halsin dead before joining the party. I don’t mind this but the Fomo on their storylines is something I’m not used to.

Companion multiclasses

Y'all ever consider what multiclasses suit the companions best? In relation to their story I mean Like an obvious one might be fighter and monk for Lae'zel. Not necessarily the most meta, hax builds just what might suit their character development throughout the game. I'm sure this has been ask before so y'all can flame me if you want but I am curious.

Help Knocked Out/Stunned Voss Act1 - What happens?

I read up on what happens if you kill Voss and the consequences - (silver sword and what not) - but what if you knock him out? Does the game still consider that dead? Or will he still make an appearance in Act 3?

Also, don't mind the weird contrast of the image. I swear I don't play like that. lol

Is drow poison busted/bugged?(possible spoilers) Spoiler

It seems when you throw drow poison as a grenade, it always put an enemy to sleep, if they aren't undead or fey or have a specific resistance. The wiki however says there is a DC13 Constitution saving throw, but a saving throw never seems to trigger.

I cheesed the whole inquisitor fight on honour mode with it. Just give him a lil nap, kill his goons and keep up the poison to make him sleep again and again.

Help Does Minthara still need to be knocked out while “temporarily hostile” to recruit her in patch 7?

Been a while since I played BG3. I heard that patch 7 made some changes to the recruitment method, allowing you to knock her out and recruit while being hostile in act 1. Is that true? Just want to be certain I continue my play through.

Help Forget the cool & powerful weapons! Tell me about the silly & odd weapons in the game!

I have played all of the game so spoilers are allowed and expected at least on my end. I personally want to make a character that revolves around a silly weapon.

At first I was considering the poop scraper dagger and the rock that is named nut buster. But admittedly when I played last I never payed to much attention to those kinds of weapons so there may be others that I'm unaware of.

So I'm wondering if y'all know of the silly category of weapons available in the game?

Help Aid the Underduke quest bugged? Spoiler

Upvotes

I am at the "Resolve the Guildhall conflict" part of this quest. But when I go back to the Guildhall, nothing happens. No cutscene, no battle, nothing. Not even the head of the Nine-Fingers is there. When I looked up walkthroughs of this quest, they mention a cutscene happening with Roah Moonglow, the character that tries to run away during the fight with mind-controlled Minsc and "Jaheira," but I killed her during the battle because I was worried she would do something bad. Did I mess up this quest? Is this a common problem people have? Should I load an earlier save from before this? I also want to make sure I get the money back for Rakath, so is there a chance I can convince her to just give it to me in conversation? Any advice would be appreciated. :)

Update: The leader of the Nine-Fingers was far in the back corner of the Guildhall for some reason lol. I just spoke with her and the fight started right after.

Help Which area is the Iron Throne? Spoiler

People keep talking about the Iron Throne and I’m very confused on what it is. I always thought that was where I killed Gortash during his coronation? I’ve already beaten the game, but I feel like I might’ve messed up killing Gortash the first chance I met him in person with my team . Like I never got to bomb the big factory since it was already destroyed and I think I missed out on a submarine level too??? I kept reading it is infamous for being a hard fight and I mean Gortash was kinda hard to fight with the traps and steel watch, but I had Karlach rush him with the gnome-IED so we were ok.

My sister is cruel and I am never trusting her again. Spoiler

My sister is the only one between the two of us that had finished a run, since I was about a year behind her in terms of downloading BG3, so she knows just about everything. I, on the other hand, an currently in act 3 in my solo run.

To say I’m playing blind is an understatement—the -1 to intelligence on my Tav is simply art imitating life. I don’t pay as much attention to dialogue as I should, and I feel like I should have seen this coming, but I didn’t. Another point to mention: I am an explorer. I LOVE exploring. Filling that map when I press that little M key brings me more joy than direct crack shot into the bloodstream.

All that to say, I explored too close to the sun, and my sister decided to take advantage of my suffering.

I was exploring the gross sewers last night, as one does. Sneaking, scrounging, scuttling like the little pest I am. My sister was watching me stream, and I voiced my confusion when I happened to climb up ‘a stinky climb up’. She was just as confused, as she had never actually explored the sewers more then necessary, until she saw what I climbed up into.

It could have been my fault, not knowing what the Iron Throne was—though I don’t remember ever seeing it mentioned—and was audibly confused. My sister, on the other hand, smelled my fear and weakness, and started egging me on to going into the submersible. I was level 9 at the time, and to be clear, I’m not particularly good at the game. For this reason I like to be over leveled for whatever quest I think I’m meant to be doing, always doing more than necessary to be levelled up.

Not questioning it because, why would I? She’s my sister, she loves me, and she wants the best for me, right?

Wrong. I got my ass beat. I was superplexed by fishmen. I was pounded into the floor and then spat on. I was fucked, pegged, bitched, and not even taken to dinner first. I was body slammed, sucker punched, swirlied, and they rubbed dirt in my eyes just for kicks. They beat me over the head with a shovel then made me dig my own grave. They kicked me until I was down, kicked me WHILE I was down, then kicked me until I was downed. Twice. By the same fishman.

And for some reason the tentacle guy from mushroom land was there. That was the only good thing about this.

Regardless, we made it out alive, but barely. I can’t say the same for a majority of the tiny folk in cages, but even still, I saved a good 4 along with the octo-bro and Wyll’s dad. All this to say: my sister is awful, I never want to do this again, and fuck fishmen.
