I guess because it's a controversial subject. I have a lot of sympathy for the man. He's in a crappy situation. Without knowing how serious the offence was, it's hard to tell if the judge is justified in his decision. The decision shouldn't be based on a heartbreaking story though.
Old drivers normally are fairly safe because they drive at sensible (or often too slow) speeds. A speeding elderly driver is the equivalent of a drunk driver when it comes to reaction times.
lmfao no it's because they're just wrong. court doesn't last a minute, and the judge has the entire thing IN HIS HAND ON HIS DESK IN THE VIDEO so to pretend he doesn't have the man's record and is making a random decision is dumb
I'm not saying the judge is making a random decision, the video is edited to make it look like the old guy is let off just because of the sob story, which probably isn't the case. It is how the video makes it appear though, which wouldn't be acceptable. The law still applies to people doing good deeds, even more so when it's a law designed to protect other civilians.
