I assume you’re from Europe with your use of the word “pension”.

The US DOES have roughly equivalent government programs. MedicAid pays for health care of poor and indigent families. MediCare pays for health care for anyone over the age of 65 or anyone of any age that is physically or mentally disabled or has certain lifelong health conditions. Social Security pays money monthly to retirees and you can start collecting Social Security payments between the ages of 62 and 70.

When you use “pension” in the US it generally refers to private companies (or government employees) collecting retirement benefits from those companies, not a government subsidy. Most private companies no longer have a pension program, it is replaced with 401k programs where the employer usually pays some matching money into a retirement fund that the employee can also put money into.

The US does not have automatic government cradle-to-grave benefits so you hear many people absolutely trashing the system, especially online, and it sounds like we kick anyone that’s poor into the street, but that’s simply not true.

Yeah it's literally getting its budget cut so a lot of this shit isn't gonna last much longer.

“LITeralLy geTTinG its bUdgEt cUt”

Oh yeah? Show me one shred of evidence that Social Security is dropping its payments to recipients by actively cutting its budget.

Social Security’s budget has gone up every single year for the past 50 years, under every administration.

Medicaid literally had its federal budget voted to be slashed the other day. I did not mention SSA. But at the same time, Trump has said he wouldn't let them touch Medicaid. So clearly SSA is likely up next down the line.
