The inferno proved to be too much for the aging fireman. The years of battling the fiery breath of the devil himself finally took its toll, his body slowing underneath the weight of age. He could not die yet, not before saving the four children he had dove back into the building to deliver from damnation. Their only exit was blocked by a glowing curtain of harm. The fireman cursed himself for his failure.
...Until..
Over the roar of the flame he heard a faint sound from the skies above, drawing closer. His heart raced, was it the roof about to collapse? Was it death arriving to take them away? No.
