While getting ready for bed: "what was the best part of your day?"

I ask my partner this some nights. Last night he said "let me think about it." 5 mins later: "it was when you walked in the door."

When our children were growing up, we did "Best and Worst" before bed every evening. All 5 of us had to come up with something. Then we sang The Gambler by Kenny Rogers as our nightly lullaby. 😁

You’ve got to know when to hold ‘em

Know when to fold ‘em

Know when to walk away

And know when to run

Some of the best advice ever sung

I love that! Both that you ask sometimes, and the particular answer he gave last night.

Some days, the best part is being in a loving relationship with a great partner. Glad you each have that!

My partner and I don't always go to bed at the same time. If I'm crawling into bed after the lights are off, I'll say, "Where are you? Are you here? I can't find you!" And then, two seconds later, when I'm tucked into bed and spooning him, I'll say, "Ahh. I did it! I found you. Winner!"

I like to end my days on a note of victory. :-)

I do this sometimes! In groups, you can’t say the same thing as anyone else, and you can’t say “everything” or “nothing”

I ask my partner what his favorite part of the day was, and what he is most looking forward to tomorrow. It’s a nightly routine for us that I really enjoy.

I ask my kids this, and the 2 year old has the same answer every night, which is his recounting of Christmas. He’s told us the same story for 3 months now, his brother and I know it by heart, it’s super cute. It starts with “Unwrapping presents at home. Another present, another present, another present, another present
 presents all gone.”
