Someone asked me tonight how old the rice cooker was, so I looked it up on amazon. I was surprised myself! BIFL!

If they're only used for rice + water, and are cleaned safely.

they will last!

Thicker multi layed coatings, some even have diamond/titanium infused with the ceramic.

It's like a good quality plate, they only really get replaced when broken after being dropped/chipped.
