Recommendations Getting ready to move on from my SDR10, what would you pick?
I'm about ready to leave my Skar SDR10 behind, it's worked well but the audio bug bit me and I'm ready for better equipment. I've been doing a bunch of research and I think I've narrowed my choices down to any of these three.
I hear a ton of great things about Sundown and DD, but it seems like on paper the Dayton is the superior choice here? Aside from a slightly lower rms rating, everything else seems a little better.
I have a Stinger MT1000.1 amp and will be building a ported box for whatever sub I get, most likely tuned to around 32-35hz since a lot of stuff i listen to has lower end bass. Will be running at 1000rms at 1ohm.
Or do I just buy once cry once and save for an SQL12 and hope they come back in stock lol.

I would go with the DD out of the 3 for sure. DD's are made different. I have some 2.5" DD's that absolutely scream for their size. Their new 8" VO series driver is on my shortlist. Their subs are known to hit hard with quick transient responses and gobs of BL to drive a port. Their prices are very reasonable given the performance and engineering effort behind them.
All that said, if you're willing to go sealed, this 15" from NVX only requires 2.0 cu ft sealed, has 88db sensitivity, and can handle 1500w RMS for <$200. I would definitely give the nod to DD for quality/better engineering. The NVX I would look at as a budget banger that can put out quality SQ bass in a sealed box at an excellent value.

Good to know, thanks! I liked the Sundown cause of their reputation and the SA12 V2 is currently on sale but didn't like the higher Fs. the Dayton has better xmax and lower Fs and aesthetically is my favorite, but I don't like the thought of overpowering the sub, even if it is only by 200rms. Seems like the 612f addresses both of those concerns, think I'm gonna go with that!

- What are your goals for your car audio system - as loud as possible (SPL)? Sound quality (SQ)? Some combination of both? Describe to us how you want your system to sound.*
Both, leaning towards SPL
- What vehicle? - year, make, model, type (coupe, sedan, SUV, truck, etc.)

- What is your maximum budget?
~$300
- Will you be installing the gear or are you going to a shop? If a shop is doing the work, does your budget include the cost of labor?
I will be installing
- What gear is in your existing system? (Is it stock? List any aftermarket gear.)

Not sure which Android head unit you have but with mine I needed an AudioControl LC1i as a line driver. Have you tested the voltage on the RCA outputs of your head unit? Most of them are really low, and if you aren’t using a line driver, you’re not gonna get great results from your amp.

I have this one. I measured the RCAs and I'm getting 2v. I definitely am getting a good amount of power, It just feels limited by the Sub and the fact that the factory Skar box is tuned so high (39hz)

I personally heard the DB subs and I am a big fan of those. They sound good and they are loud. I have also heard great things about sundown. I am a SQ guy personally with a JL w6 12 and if I ever went spl I would go with db.

DD or Deaf Bonce? I was looking at the DB SA252 D2 but decided against it cause I'm not a fan of them visually lol

No one will agree with me but I’m telling you hands down bang for your buck and about 1/3 of your budget is the Rockville k9v3. I got one about a month ago and this thing is a beast. I have it on a skar 1200.1 wired to 1 ohm.

It's because we've had shit equivalent to Rockville, before Rockville existed. We know there's a good chance you're going to get 2 - 3 years out of it, if not less, and have to replace. We've replaced with quality shit that last and doesn't have to put lies on the box to sell. We know there's a difference in the sound quality of amplifiers and not all watts sound the same. I'll take a Punch 1000.1 against that skar 1200.1 any day of the week. It's not even close. Don't take my word for it tho, hear the difference for yourself.

I'd go with the Dayton. They're all good subs, but the Dayton is cheaper, from a good company, with a great warranty, and is a little better suited for some daily SQL in my opinion. It does want a little bigger box than the other two, but in the end, the difference isn't all that much.

I'm going to go with DD just because they make one helluva sub.
However, I have not only installed an Ultimax in a car system for someone, I've installed several of them in theater rooms for customers. They are definitely a helluva sub. They have some serious cone travel, reminiscent of my RE Audio subs XMAX. They hit quite hard and very low.
