Recommendations What is the cheapest way to get lots of low quality bass?
I have a shitbox and I want to make it comically shitty. What is the cheapest way to get lots of bass, even if the actual sound is super low quality?
EDIT: It's a shitty old honda crv without back seats, so I have lots of space

Loosen every exterior and interior panel fastener. Put the grodiest pawn shop "midbass and horn tweeter" stereo box on display, and put bass shakers behind all the panels. A visible source that couldn't shake a Parkinson's patient's hand, and all the panels clattering like there's eight fifteens going to town...

As many Sony explods as you can fit. Bonus points if you pair it with a shitty old flea market amp.

Yoo, people talk mad shit about them Sony but god damn those fuckers can take a beating.

Somewhere, right now, there’s a 1995 Dodge Neon driving around still bumping their Sony xPlodes.

My buddy in high school got 2 sets of the 2 12 mtx terminator sub box and amp combo. He wired all 4 properly and you could legitimately hear his car coming almost 1/4 mile up the road. Those sets are on Amazon maybe 250 a piece. Even one would likely do the trick

Search forums for "one note wonder".
Good sound quality is generally determined by a speaker and enclosure to have low displacement and play all the frequencies required of it in a flat or pleasing curve.
It is possible to make an enclosure that only really resonates at one frequency. Everywhere else it is so out of control it can damage itself, and it sounds horrible, but at that one glorious frequency it makes the maximum amount of noise possible for the drivers.
It's usually an enormous enclosure, and if you don't know what you're doing it is easy to smoke the drivers.

Hear me out, you said CHEAPEST not great. If you can please get OFC wire and not CCA like I have linked, and you’ll probably benefit from a better line output converter. However here is my recommendation (if your alt can handle it and you have space).
Line output converter to give amp signal.
1/0 CCA wire good for 200 amps.
Big 3 gauge to help alt supply big power.
$150 for 2000 watts insane value and why I recommend such big wire.
throw 4 of these in a box that you diy build.
For the box just buy like 1 maybe 1 1/2 sheets of mfd, glue and screws and just make a 5 ft3 box.
Suddenly you have 4 12”s pushed by 2000watts and you’re waking up neighbors at 3 am with only $600 invested.

Ah yes, the "What" Build
Anybody inside will be saying "what?!" for the rest of the day and everybody outside will be saying "what the fuck?" When you pass by 🤣

2 12 in terminators by mtx off of Amazon...come ported or non and with amp less than 300 total with power kit

They hit hard sound great and last long time...been using the same set of speakers since Sept 2019 and only swapped the amp (Texas heat issue) put a Diablo 2100 on it and sounds even better

I’ve had my set for years too, changed the amp to an alpine at 600w rms and still have no issues

Those jawns are a great buy for the money. I paired it with a 1200W amp and it used to shake my rearview out of alignment

Go on eBay, buy 2 to 4 $50 12s and a $500 amp Then Head to your local hardware store and snag some MDF, Screws and sealant. Make the shittiest sealed enclosure you can manage. No need for port tuning or internal supports around here partner, you want that bitch Flexxing apart at the seams.

Keep in mind if you’re tryna run like 2000 watts RMS you’ll probably need power upgrades lol but just buy some bullshit 15in sub off marketplace and an amp

Walmart sells Jensen 12" subs for 40 bucks. You can buy 4 of them and buy 2 Power acoustik amps for 99 bucks each. Build a decent box and they will get loud. Parker the Basshead did a video on that setup.

People in here need to think shittier. In high school I took 2 18" Jensen home audio speakers and 2 36" Curtis Mathes home speakers and wired them into the CD player in my hatchback Mazda. For the cost of 25' of speaker wire it sounded damn good to 16-yr-old me.

Build a box for the biggest sub(s) you can fit in your vehicle and just buy some cheap subs. A single 15 or 18 will probably be the most budget way to do this. Tune the box above 40hz, slam away. Honestly you would be surprised how you can get good quality bass thats still loud on a budget when done correctly.

I like the part where you gave us a lot of details so we know what you have room for.

I knew a guy who had a pickup truck. He removed the cones from a couple monster speakers, and hooked them up underneath the frame of the truck, near the rear of the bed, driving each one with 1000 W amps.
He used the entire frame of the vehicle and the bed of the truck as the speaker cone.
That thing was so loud you could hear him coming long before you could see him, and if he cranked it, the back of the truck would jump.

There's no such things as "low quality bass" unless you're clipping the shit out of your subs (or your box is shit)... in which case just have lots of money to replace them every time you fry them.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nVWffjpFA4I
The "best amp ever made" versus the "worst amp ever made" for subs.... nobody can tell the difference.
"30hz is 30hz." - MB Enclosures 2024
Sounds like you just want to make a horrible and inefficient box... you can try building a box that has total cancellation, so it looks like it's making bass but nothing is actually coming out in terms of sound. That'd be pretty shit.

Bunch of people in this sub are super insecure about the exorbitant prices they’re paying for shit that’s only subjectively better than the lower cost stuff, so they dog it any chance they get. People can hate on it all they want, but Skar is as popular as it is because you’re getting a lot for your money. The audiophile mentality of “more money, more better” is so hilariously condescending and false, when I can build a system, top to bottom, in any car, that’s absolutely perfect to me for under $1000.
Just want to add that I don’t own any Skar products. My system at the moment is a mix between CT Sounds sub and amps, with Cerwin-Vega components and a Sony head unit. But I’ve heard the full gamut of Skar products and they sound great.

Yup!
I've always said, if you use the product as it is designed and intended, there's no reason it should ever be a problem... no more or less than any other brand.
People are brand-washed though... and buyer justification is a hell of a thing.

Go listen to a skar sub.
Clean power, sounds like straight ass 😎

I have heard Skar plenty of times. In a good custome built and designed box, in a acoustically designed system. They sound like any other sub. If your box is shit, no matter what sub you use, it will also be shit.
Did you even watch the video? I bet you didn't because you act like you didn't.
Why do giant YouTube creators who are legends in the industry, disagree with you?

Willful ignorance of others, tends to make me that way. It's like when a toddler goes to stick a fork in the electrical outlet and you stop them... but you're the "meanie" and the "dumb dumb".

A pair of cheap 15s or 18s and cheap 1000w amp.
