Hey, guys found this beautiful little boy a few months ago and decided to adopt him. Im still curious about what breed of cat he is Any help?He is my first pet. I have attached the photos. Some people tell he might be a mix of ragdoll or something. Also hes just 4 months old, he loves me alot but he bites alot. Any advice for what i should do?

Standard Domestic Long Hair (DLH) (possibly DSH...sometimes that fluffy hair settles down as they matures) with a great genetic result, not unlike a beautiful human. You can't usually tell what the primary heritage is.
The cream "eyeliner" is gorgeous.

It could be a mix with Main Coon. There is fluff in the ears and at their ends. If it keeps it when grows, can be a sign of coon genes.

Really not. It's just hair fluff. A Maine Coon's ears, even as a baby, are a lot pointier, and it's not just a small bit of hair fluff giving them the appearance

He is a cat. The bite is the way he plays with you. You can buy a chewing toy or a falconeer glove so he gets used to bite that instead.

The truth regarding breed is that if you don’t have papers from a reputable breeder then it’s nearly always considered a domestic long or short hair. Yours has a very similar pattern to mine. Mine is a domestic long hair with a mackerel tabby pattern. She’s from a shelter and that’s all I’ll ever know unless I get genetic testing done. But while I too am curious, nothing else matters beyond how much I love her and that I do my absolute best to give her a safe, happy and good life. ❤️

It's a cat. Breed = cat. Type = cat. Why don't you love him for being a cat and not some fancy-ass breed? Advice = Forget about his "breed" and love him.

You have a very gorgeous cat.😻 I’ve had a lot of my own personal cats and I’ve also fostered quite a few litters of kittens. All of them go through the bite stage. I would suggest tiring him out. The best thing I found are the feathers on a fishing stick. You can get them to run and chase it you can get them to jump you can let them catch it now and then and they will treat it like prey, which is awesome to watch. After many years of buying a shit load of toys for my cats I have found their favorite feathers are these type they’re harder and they will treat them like a caught an actual bird.
Enjoy your little baby boy he is going to bring you so much love and happiness🩶

I avoid feathers because I’m afraid they’ll try to eat them, get bits stuck in throat etc.

My cat prefers feather toys. Cats eat birds in nature, swallowing feathers shouldn't hurt them.

I will only allow our cats to play with feathers supervised. One time, in got left out and one of our cats swallowed and puked one up. They can get stuck in the throat and cause issues. Just because a cat will do something in the wild doesn’t make it ok. I’m sure many cats have died doing what’s natural. Even if it’s uncommon, it’s not worth the risk to me.

Feathers can absolutely get lodged in their throat. While it might not be common, it can happen and isn’t worth the risk. Just make sure to supervise feather play time and they should be fine depending on the cat.

That looks like a common Cattus Happius, grey & white variety.
Like all in the Cattus family they are best when snuggly on their chosen hoomans. Favorite activities include napping in the sunbeams & making biscuits.

Turn your cats attention away from you by getting cat toys, a rod with a toy attached, ping pong balls, etc. You could also try the cat channel on YouTube. Also, put citrus spray or rub an orange segment on your hand until he stops biting you. Best wishes, beautiful cat, btw.

He’s an adorable cat.. it looks like he could have some Maine Coon or Norwegian Forest Cat traits due to its fluffy coat and facial features

The basic “cat dancer” toy is loved by all cats. That’ll tire her out. Until about 18 months kittens are very active and you have to watch them carefully because they’ll get into everything. She/He is a doll! Please make sure your screen is tight. I would hate for her to have an accident. Have fun with her. The best way to keep them happy throughout their lives is a bit of play every day. Just another bit of advice: be sure the toys you buy are safe and don’t have small pieces that will break off or strings they’ll ingest or paint etc. Something she might love is catnip (organic if you can). Fill a thin sock with a wad of catnip and tie it. Most cats will go crazy over it:-)).

Are you guys sure that's not a Sweetie Fuzzball? I'm pretty sure that's a Sweetie Fuzzball.

You have a beautiful gorgeous little cat, you're a very lucky girl! What a cutie 😻
You can get cat toys, feathers, balls he can play with and won't get bored & frustrated --> bad behaviors. Also you can get a new car so they can socialize. Such a cute cat aww 😻 good luck!

Catscanner can tell you what breeds it might have in it. Give it a handful of good and varied photos for higher accuracy.

He looks a lot like mine. I've always thought tabby mixed with a ragdoll.
Btw the cream bits are called 'champagne'

You should love him. Teach him that biting hurts. He is perfect and will be your best friend.

If he bites you painfully exaggerate by how much. Yelp and snatch your hand away, he’ll learn, most likely.

I had a ragdoll & Norwegian forest cat mix that looked just like that as a kitten. He's gonna grow up cute 🥺

That is most definitely a floof.
Possible Maine coon with that M marking, the Maine and the tuffs.

He’s bored! Get another one…..Don’t make the same mistake I did and let her live alone bc she’ll be 9 in June and the rag (NOT as in Ragdoll) still bites me!

It"s the breed that loves you and you love it. Nothing else matters... So sick of seeing this question.

If you have an iPhone you can go to a pic of him and they’ll basically google search what breed they are. It’s not perfectly accurate but if you keep getting one breed I would go with that.

u/No-Tradition1518 1d ago
If you have an iPhone [know because I have one, not sure about other phones] you can take a picture and it’ll tell you what breed! Plants and bugs, too.
