Any good tailored cat food subscription you would recommend? Mainly we feed our cats wet food with a little bit of dry food here and then to graze throughout, and we're open to trying raw for them too. Any advice would be appreciated, thank you!

I have a friend of a friend who has been an irresponsible owner and not neutered their cat. He has got 16 kittens living in his house - all under the age of 1 apart from the gorgeous tabby. I have contacted local animal organisations - they were going to be sold free of charge but that won’t be happening to ensure safety. If you are interested, please message me and I can you send you his way. I’m not the owner - I’m only doing this so that these kittens are in the safest hands and organisations and extremely underfunded and have low capacity. They are based in Croydon, South London.

Our 8 month old kitten has had his second jabs and nearly ready to be let out but I'm really anxious and worried mainly due to next door. Their garden had a large amount of rubbish and crap, a broken trampoline and goal posts, overrun with weeds and cut branches, recycling over the lawn and a garage door they never shut and leave to flap in the wind. They also have at least one dog that they leave out who loves to bark at us through the fence any time we're outside.

I'm constantly worried he's going to hurt himself in their garden, get trapped in their garage or get hurt by their dog and just want some reassurance or advice he's going to be okay, or what I can do? He's chomping at the bit to go outside, and keeping him as an inside cat isn't the preferred option.

My gorgeous 4 year old Hades is the live of my life but having a tricky time at thw moment. He is having some aggression and with anxiety supplements, outside time (currently indoors) and plans in place to move to a place with a garden, I am trying to support.

Something I have noticed, however, is that some of his attacks (5 minutes of launching at me and biting me, no matter if I sit down, move away, look non-threatening) is near food time. Vets have said if anything, he is on the bigger side of healthy but I don't think this accurately considers his Maine Coon side. Yes, he is 6kg but looks proportional and screams as if starved at food time.

If there are any half Maine Coon owners or people with experienced with the breed, how would this affect diet/temperament? We play lots, have good quality food and have been completely happy aside from the last few months - plus vets have done a check over and can't see a physical issue.

Hi everyone, I need a little bit of advice regarding a cat that has shown up at our door, he's extremely friendly and is pretty clean so i definitely think he's owned but he won't leave, he's been with us for a few days now and I'm trying to find his owner, I've been keeping an eye on the lost and found Facebook groups for our area and I've taken him to the vets to see if he is chipped. He is chipped but there is no name or contact details linked to it. I don't really want to be posting him on the groups as he is an expensive breed and don't want the wrong people trying to claim him. I need some advice on where to go from here, we are Cat people so I'm happy for him to stay with us until we can find his owner

My 20 year old Mitten is at the end of her journey. I know it’s time, she does too I think.

For the last week she’s hardly eaten, hasn’t moved a lot and is unsteady on her legs. She doesn’t seem to be in discomfort, is still making it to the litter tray, she’s just sleeping, not really responsive and quiet (not like her).

I think if I take her to the vets it’ll be the sleep option or tests/medications to squeeze a few more months out of her - which doesn’t seem fair, just selfish.

Am I being selfish by not taking her though? She’s always done exactly what she wanted whenever she wanted to do it, her life has been glorious. I kind of want her to go on her terms, sleeping in her “spot” rather than mine.

Update: thanks to everyone for the comments. Things have taken a downturn in the last few hours, she’s clearly not with it when she’s awake now and her legs have gone. I’ve contacted my vet, they are coming out to see her tomorrow morning. We’ve spoken about euthanasia at home in her spot, under her blanket.

Gutted. Knew it was always coming. She’s been with me through all of my life’s major events. I lost my parents and she was there, I got married and she was there, we had a kid and she’s been there.

We’ve heard very mixed reviews about clumping/non-clumping litter. Everyone raves about clumping, however I’ve also heard this can hurt the cat’s paws - is this something you’ve found?

What are your thoughts on these, is one better than the others? Just want the best for our little babies :)

My cat has only ever liked shop own brand wet food, when she was a kitten we tried her on whiskas and felix wet food but they gave her an upset tummy however she usually loves the shop own brand stuff. Our usual go to is sainsbury’s. For biscuits she’ll eat anything.

This past month however she has completely gone off her wet food. She will get excited as she sees me opening a sachet but then gives it a sniff and walks off, I’ve tried giving her different flavours etc. but she just doesnt seem to like it anymore. I’ve just been giving her biscuits instead but I feel bad because she always gets so excited about the meat sachets. I thought this was her being fussy but I was talking to my sister about it and her cat has started doing the exact same thing! I have tried googling whether they have changed their recipe or formulation but nothing seems to come up.

Has anyone else’s cats also gone off the shop own brand wet food? I’m a little stuck because she can’t have whiskas or felix and now doesnt like this one either!

Hi, just over 6 months ago I got a rescue cat from a local RSPCA and she was still a kitten but I am not sure of her age at the time, maybe 6-9 months, so she will be around 12-15 months or so now. Anyway, we were told that she had kittens very young, maybe 3-4 months old (I think she was brought in to the shelter pregnant and hadn't had the best start in life coming from a terrible home). Because she had had kittens, she was very small and the RSPCA said she probably would always be a small cat as having kittens too early can stunt their growth. She has remained a small cat (she's about 3.2kg) but is fully grown now as an adult cat. We were also told to keep her as an indoor cat (which is what I wanted anyway) as she had spent most of her life indoors and had remained so at the RSPCA and would struggle being so small outside.

That's just a little background to give some context. She has always been very friendly right from the start and I play with her loads and give her lots of attention. The problem is, she just wants me all the time and particularly wants me to play with her a lot. I know I am probably to blame for this seeing as I have spoiled her with attention and play with her constantly throughout the day.

I don't let her sleep with me as I am a very light sleeper and I know she will just mess about throughout the night and want to play (I have tried with her a few times and this is what happens usually). She usually sleeps downstairs but as my stairs are open plan into the living room, she can come upstairs when she wants and does so at 5 in the morning and yowls outside my room for me to let her in. After a while she goes downstairs and gets a toy and brings it up and I hear her playing in the bathroom before she eventually goes back downstairs but for the next few hours till I get up, she will regularly sit outside my room meowing.

I wondered if whether it's a mixture of me giving her lots of attention and her lack of being able to be much of a kitten when she was younger than now she is making up for lost time. She is very kitten-like and loves playing and prefers to be around me. I don't think she has separation anxiety as I got out often and she is fine at home on her own, she just knows how to manipulate me when I am here to get her own way. I do try to ignore her as much as possible but when she is jumping up on my desk and blocking the computer screen or messing with wires or jumping in front of the TV etc, it's hard to ignore that.

I am hoping with time she will grow out of her kitten behaviour and be a bit more relaxed and able to entertain herself etc. I just wondered if this is common.

I am also suffering from humidity issues in my bedroom causing me sleepless nights and so I bought a dehumidifier to deal with that but I really need to leave my bedroom door open for it to work (it is on the landing outside my room) but I know my cat will just jump on the bed and start messing about when she gets bored.

Any advice would be great, sorry for the very long post.

I tried a few pouches of Purrform and my cat wasn't that into it. Then I signed up to Bella & Duke because it was so cheap. My cat loved it but the problem was that he was never satisfied. He seemed to always be hungry. I got a few more pouches of Purrform and noticed that he really doesn't like it as much. I don't understand. I thought they were both raw meat? He loves every flavour of Bella & Duke and devours the whole meal but with Purrform he only eats about 60-70% of it.

Any idea how is this different? What are your experiences?

While relaxing on the recliner with Murphy asleep on my lap. This intruder called Stitch decided to invite himself in for a snack and then he proceeded to take refuge in the condo on the cat tree.

Edit: get real. The lot of you. It's normal for cats to roam free, have adventures and poo in the wild. Where I live there are free roaming cats everywhere ! It's not usual for an outdoor cat to continue using a litter try. Such a typical hyper Internet reddit response.

My cat had been gong outside for about 2 months. We started my putting his tray out rhe garden and he he was using it. We then took the litter tray away and he just wouldn't poo he just held it, when we put the tray back he used straight away he was despite he had held it all day.

he also doesn't leave our garden, there is nowhere for him to burry his poo.

How do i get him to start pooing outside/leaving the garden to find a place to poo.

For context My cat is 9 months old, very cautious, neutered, we live in a small semi rural village, quite roads, plenty of places for him to explore (if he ever leaves the garden) there are quite a few cats in the ares that all hang out seem to be a bit of community of cats. house 2 doors down has dogs. The furthest he has gone is next door. (Not sure if all the above is relevant)

I am very wary of letting the boy out at night when we’re asleep. If the weather were to turn or he got injured we wouldn’t be able to help him or let him in if we were asleep. But my GOD is he persistent, meowing and chirping and jumping all around. Any advice on how to handle?

(I’m American but if they knew I had an indoor outdoor cat they’d throw me in the river)
