May I ask if this is in California area? My husband and I are looking to adopt 2 cats and this video made me cry from happiness. Would love to adopt from here.

Aw you are sweet! This is in Nebraska. Hope you and your husband find the purrfect felines!

So sad:( but I’m happy to see that those kitties are being taken care of at a good shelter :)

It can definitely be sad sometimes. But each little one gets lots of love, playtime, and attention! We try to keep them as happy and comfortable as possible.

What’s the average time that a kitty spends in the shelter before being adopted?

Honestly it kind of depends. The young kittens generally go faster than the older cats. Our longest feline resident has been with us since July. We have a pretty good adoption rate!

If you're in SoCal, go to Downey Shelter! They are way over capacity and all those babies need homes stat.

I live in NorCal! Any recommendations near Sacramento area would be much appreciated!

Any city/county/municipal animal control facility (almost always government run/funded) near you would likely have kittens and cats for adoption for usually really reasonable rates (ours charges $40 adoption fees which includes spay/neuter and all vet work and shots).

Those shelters tend to have high euthanasia rates as space is at a premium, and they have SUCH a hard time finding homes for the adult cats.

I used to work for my county animal control and took 4 kitties and a dog home over the year and a half I worked in the kennels there.

Hope you find your new family member quickly!!

San Jose shelter has a ton of cats looking for homes because of the massive stray cat issue. I take care of a small herd of stray cats (they’re really indoor cats who happen to live outdoors at this point) who I can’t take to the shelter to find their forever home because of the massive over population. It’s a bit out of your way but the shelter on Monterey has some of the kindest volunteers and an amazing TNR program (and they’ve let me bring members of my cat tribe in when they get hurt so they can get looked at by a vet... and sometimes put up for adoption too 💕💕💕)

Are you in Southern California? If you are check out The Kitten Lady. She has 2 kittens needing a home.

I live close by to a cat sanctuary called Cat House on the Kings near Reedley (45min away from Fresno) if you guys adopt from there then you have a cat with all their shots, some are fixed too if they are old enough. The money goes to helping out the shelter.

Edit: Just saw that you live near Sacramento, I’ll still keep it up in case anyone is interested.
