May I ask if this is in California area? My husband and I are looking to adopt 2 cats and this video made me cry from happiness. Would love to adopt from here.
Any city/county/municipal animal control facility (almost always government run/funded) near you would likely have kittens and cats for adoption for usually really reasonable rates (ours charges $40 adoption fees which includes spay/neuter and all vet work and shots).
Those shelters tend to have high euthanasia rates as space is at a premium, and they have SUCH a hard time finding homes for the adult cats.
I used to work for my county animal control and took 4 kitties and a dog home over the year and a half I worked in the kennels there.
San Jose shelter has a ton of cats looking for homes because of the massive stray cat issue. I take care of a small herd of stray cats (they’re really indoor cats who happen to live outdoors at this point) who I can’t take to the shelter to find their forever home because of the massive over population. It’s a bit out of your way but the shelter on Monterey has some of the kindest volunteers and an amazing TNR program (and they’ve let me bring members of my cat tribe in when they get hurt so they can get looked at by a vet... and sometimes put up for adoption too 💕💕💕)
