Opinion Is Anyone Else Completely Exhausted by Reddit's Left-Wing Echo Chamber

Been hanging around here for a while now, and something's been bugging me more and more lately: it feels like almost everywhere you look on Reddit, it's just one big echo chamber for the left radical left.

Honestly, trying to have a normal conversation or even just float a slightly different opinion feels like walking into a minefield. You get instantly swarmed with downvotes and often just straight-up nasty comments. The lack of any real tolerance for viewpoints outside the progressive bubble is honestly wild.

If oou even hint at a different take on climate policies, and suddenly you're a "denier" or some kind of corporate shill. Where's the room for actual debate or even just different ways of looking at things?

It's gotten to the point where I'm practically doing mental gymnastics just to figure out which subs won't make my blood pressure skyrocket with the constant virtue signaling and predictable talking points. It's genuinely exhausting trying to engage when you know you're just going to get bad faith arguments and personal attacks instead of, you know, an actual discussion.

Has Reddit just become this massive echo chamber where anything outside the left-wing and hardcore environmentalist playbook gets instantly buried?

Maybe there are some hidden corners of Reddit I haven't found yet where you can actually have a decent back-and-forth.

Opinion NZDF drops entry requirements

Given school is compulsory to 15, I take this as saying we will take absolutely anyone at this point.

When you consider it, its pretty distasteful - it can be a fairly dangerous job at times that a reasonable IQ certainly makes safer.

Much less that the obvious results of ships on the bottom of the ocean argues against a net saving on being thrifty on pay and benefits and taking anyone, and that having a certain percentage of idiots necessitates watering down the training and boring anyone half decent out of their gourd...

Nice of them to dress up the role up as 'army combat specialist' - though I wonder what we can say our military 'specialises' in these days. Doubt we can even drink like champs any more.

Discussion Newly Launched App to Compare Groceries across New Zealand...Feedback is Appreciated!

Kia Ora, this is not a Greens post but is still worth a read ;)

Grosave is a newly launched Grocery Price Comparison app that lets you buy more food for the same price.

However as we are newly launched, we aren’t perfect. We can be buggy, hard to use at times and could do with a design overhaul.

That is why your feedback is invaluable to us.

We would love to hear from you the following feedback:

  1. Was it easy to select your stores in order to compare?
  2. Do you have problems with finding price history and price alert features? (e.g. usability)
  3. Were there any bugs in the app (would be amazing if we knew what device this was on)
  4. Overall, were you satisfied with the experience?

As many have pointed out, Grocery Price Comparison is not a new idea, however Grosave has created many NZ-first features including:

  • Price History (helps you accurately see pricing increases/decreases)
  • Multiple Shopping Lists
  • Price Alerts (receive notifications when favorited items are on special)
  • Ability to save Shopping Lists to all devices
  • Biggest Price Difference (know the best deals in the city/the store your shopping in)
  • Chemist Warehouse (coming soon)

Search up "Grosave" on appstore, playstore or on google and you should find us.

Many thanks for your time!  It really helps us develop something that can genuinely help with the cost of living.

P.s. If you would like to be in on our development, feel free to join r/cheapergroceriesnz

Greens Deny Rumours of Chloe Swarbrick’s Alleged Fish Breath as Staffers Complain of ‘Lingering Funk’

“I don’t know what kind of vegan breath mint she’s using, but it’s definitely not cruelty-free to my nostrils.”

WELLINGTON — The Green Party has moved swiftly to deny growing rumours that MP Chloe Swarbrick’s breath carries the unmistakable stench of low-tide.

Multiple parliamentary staffers have reported a “persistent, salty funk” that seems to appear whenever Swarbrick speaks, whispers, or breathes too close to a shared microphone. One aide described the scent as “like a mussel had a secret, and that secret was pain.”

“It’s like she’s been French kissing a fish market,” said one junior staffer, who now attends meetings via speakerphone from the corridor. “And I say that with deep respect for her mahi.”

Despite being a vocal vegan and advocate for plant-based everything, Swarbrick’s breath has prompted wild speculation. Some suggest it’s a vitamin B12 supplement gone rogue. Others believe it’s karmic retribution for her relentless opposition to commercial fishing subsidies.

“She says she’s never touched a snapper in her life,” said one intern, dabbing Vicks under their nose. “But it’s in the air, man. It’s in the air.”

Mints have begun appearing mysteriously on her desk. A lemon-scented diffuser was recently installed in her office. Staff have taken to opening windows “on principle.” One brave staffer reportedly tried slipping her a Fisherman’s Friend, only to be met with a piercing glare and a reminder that menthol is a colonial construct.

Swarbrick remains unfazed.

“I’m more worried about the stench of climate inaction, to be honest,” she told reporters, while a nearby assistant quietly sprayed lavender mist in her general direction.

Meanwhile, cleaners have asked for gloves, several party comms staff have switched to herbal tea (citing trauma), and at least one lobbyist has been spotted wearing a clothespin on their nose.

The Green Party has strongly denied any wrongdoing, adding in a statement:
“Frankly, if fingers are going to be pointed, we’d just like to note that those fingers seem to smell suspiciously like fish themselves.”

"“Everyone getting their unique needs met”

The state of New Zealand’s Defence forces. From senior personnel being compelled to sign a pledge to DEI, to personnel receiving coaching from a transgender human resources consultant.

All this while, according to the report on the Manawanui sinking, they’re not trained in how to operate a ship (or its auto pilot).

This is the nation’s security, not some loony tune Green Party induction ceremony.

Without a doubt there needs to be court martials and senior heads need to role.

Defence Minister Judith Collins needs to stop protecting them and do her damn job."
