Pound for pound, one of the smartest, fearless and, well, craziest breeds ever. Most small dogs get aggressive over fear. I’m fairly certain JR’s actually like fighting…………or it could be just stupidity lol. Mine would happily take on a Rottweiler.

Mine loves it when I swing him around like I'm beating a rug. Loves to disembowel any toy he can. And growls like he's fighting to the death when we play. This is after full on barreling into my legs when he wants to play. God, i love him.

Mine DID take on a Rottweiler. It went after my wife while she was out walking the dogs (we had another JR puppy) and my JRT went after that Rottie. Went it fast, ducked under the things jaws as it tried to snap at her, latched on to the Rottie's throat and tried to shake it like a rat.... that didn't work so well, but she hung there ripping away at its throat until the Rottweiler backed off. Then my JRT dropped off and scampered away.
The Rottweiler went after my wife again, so my JRT went back in and did the same thing again until it backed off. This happened seven times! At which point the Rottie opted for the better part of valor and ran away. a
She was a great dog. Utterly fearless and fast as lightning. The Rottie couldn't touch her.

Their created to kill rats and the like

They're actually created to go into the den of a fox that has gone to ground and chase it out again to the hunt could continue. It just so happens when you breed a dog brave enough and crazy enough to go into the den of a potentially wounded animal and face it on its own ground, that courage (or craziness as you prefer) carries over to a lot of other behavior. Like killing rats. Or beating up aggressive Rottweilers. Or chasing away known rapists.
